Thanks, this has all been since replacing opti spark. We've used 5 different batteries, even ones that are fine in other vehicles. It's an insane car with a very touchy temprament for the LT1.

Lots of stuff. An after market alarm, malfuntioning radio, bad battery, bad door pin switch for the interior lights. Best thing to do is charge the battery if it's in fact good, thenunhook the negative battery cable & connect a test light from the disconnected cable to the negative battery post. If it's a nice bright light it's got a draw. If it's really dim, that's the memory for the computer,anti-theft,radio memory. I mean dim, like barely lit! That's ok. If you don't have a test light disconnect the negative cable & touch it to the negative battery post a few times & if there's a big spark, there's a draw. If there's a draw & there's nothing on in the car, like an interior light, etc, than start with the inside the car fuse box & while holding the open door pin switch test each fuse for power. If anything has power that shouldn't with the key off that's where to start. Do the same for the under the hood box as well but disconnect the hood light. If you are using the Viper alarm system, junk the system. That alarm causes your problem & in alot of cases a fire.

Have the battery tested..
Could be a dead cell(s)..
Sometimes batteries will test fine even with a dead cell(s)..
They tipically last an average of 3 years..
IF your battery is fine -
A battery drain is sooo hard to find..
Its really a process of ellimination..

I have a 2009 Nissan Cube and when I try to start it you can tell it is trying to start but nothing. I even had it jumped just in case and still it wouldn't start any Ideas?

when you jump a car, you sometimes have to let the other car charge your battery for 5-15 minutes, in the case that a dead cell in your battery is dragging power from the system(s). Try charging the battery with another car, then try the jump again. if still no, you have 2 main alternatives- get your battery checked and get your alternator checked. There are other issues that can cause this type of non-starting situation, but a dead cell in the battery dragging down system power or a bad alternator, leading to an extremely dead battery would be your 2 leading causes. Other possibilities are simple, like spark pulgs/wires, to huge, like a broken timing belt/chain

3 weeks ago my car would not start, replaced battery and it has been fine till tonight and it would not start.

3 days on a new battery, yes it is significant. Four things can do this in a short time. alternator, starter, radio, and interior lights/ light switch. Alternator can be checked on the car, A sign for the starter is that it may drag or drag sometimes. Radio is lights staying on after the door is opened,Even the clock. Light switch is interior lights don't work or the dimmer switch doesn't work. These are just suggestions that I have run across. They still need to be checked. It can get costly.

Will not start . thought battery was weak because it seemed like starter was dragging 2 days before not starting. now when i turn key all i hear is relay clicking inside fuse box

Battery and charging system needs to be tested. If the alternator quit you can only run so long on the battery untill it runs out of juice. Boost the truck and let it run for a couple minutes ( remove booster cables ) then remove the negative cable from battery.. if it keeps running the charging system is fine and the battery is to blame.

2007 Vue hybrid. 12-volt battery dead? No electric key opening, lights, starting, etc. Can I try to trickle charge it? We;ve been away a week, but it has been sitting in a garage above 50 degrees.

If the battery is completely dead a trickle charge won't do much. These are designed to keep a good battery good. You need a regular battery charger set to 10 amps for a couple hours then 2 amps overnight. Be aware that sometimes if your battery has been completely killed it may not work for long, that is your car will start but within a few days or hours it will leave you stranded. You'll know because it will drag when you try to start it. Sometimes you get lucky and it works great for years.

Next time do use a trickle charger! Also if the charge you use is automatic then you can leave it hooked up in 2 amp mode when you are gone. Good luck!

Truck wont start. battery test good.truck cranks over, but drags down after a couple of tries, has new starter and spark plugs, truck has good fire from coil but weak fire to the plugs could it be a moduale...

drags down and then clicks? then is a dirty batterie post if that is not it, then there is a fuel problem to check, starting fluid spray through the intake air, make sure not to spray directly onto the map sensor.

Starting

yes, it could but starters usually give you an indication. They drag, grind but usually let you know before they just quit. Could be the battery, or more likely a bad battery connection. And batteries are cheaper!

Battery goes down

You have a power drain from somewhere, either an accessory or a diode in the alternator.Take the hot wire off the battery (vehicle running)and see what is still running and that will be the accessory draining power. If nothing shows up then it would likely be the diodes in the alternator have failed.

1998 pontiac transport montana starting problems

It could be the starting motor is faulty or was not installed correctly, particularly if you are finding it turns over the engine slower than it should (dragging and dragging down the battery voltage). When starting the car, the teeth must mesh properly with the ring gear or all sorts of strange things will eventually happen. Alignment is controlled by shims on the mounting bolts and if they are the wrong ones or missing, also usually bad news.
