Transmission lever will not move out of park

When I drove into the driveway, I stopped the car 2007 Chrysler 300, I pressed on the brake and moved the shift lever from Drive to Park. When I came out to start the car, it started, however, the lever would not move out of the Park position? The car will not move?
Any answer to my problem, without calling the Dealership?

Start it up, step on the brake, and turn the steering wheel hard to the left or to the right to release the shifter.

Stuck in park will not shift

Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control System
The automatic transmission shift lock control is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the ignition is ON. The driver must press the brake pedal before moving the shift lever out of the PARK position. The system consists of the following components:
?€¢
The automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid.

?€¢
The automatic transmission shift lock control switch.

?€¢
The park/neutral position switch.

With the ignition in the ON position, battery positive voltage is supplied to the park/neutral position switch. When the transmission is in the PARK position the contacts in the park/neutral position switch are closed. This allows current to flow through the switch to the automatic transmission shift lock control switch. The circuit continues through the normally-closed switch to the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid. The automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid is permanently grounded. This energizes the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid, locking the shift linkage in the PARK position. When the driver presses the brake pedal the contacts in the automatic transmission shift lock control switch open, causing the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid to release. This allows the shift lever to move from the PARK position.
Park Lock Solenoid
The park lock solenoid is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the key is in the OFF position. The key must be in the RUN position to release the park lock solenoid. The system consists of the park lock solenoid. With the ignition in the ON position, voltage is supplied to the park lock solenoid. The park lock solenoid energizes through a permanent ground unlocking the shift lever. With the ignition in the OFF or ACCY position the park lock solenoid de-energizes and locks the shift lever in the park position.
Shift Lever Does Not Move with Brake Pedal Depressed
DEFINITION: Transmission shift lever will not move out of the PARK position with the ignition ON and the brake pedal pressed.

OK my crysler 300 - C is stuck in park someone please help me

If it is parked facing down a grade, such as a driveway, you have to mash ******* the foot brake with the engine running to yank the selector out of park

The selector and the foot brake are interlocked to prevent putting the Chrysler in drive without a foot on the brake

My 2007 chrysler pacifica wont shift out of park.

SHIFTER LOCKED IN PLACE

  1. Remove the instrument panel cover below the steering column, then remove the steering column shrouds to gain access to the brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) solenoid. The solenoid is part of the interlock cable assembly.
  2. Disconnect the wire connector from the rear of the BTSI solenoid.
  3. Insert the ignition key and turn it to the ON position.
  4. With the brakes applied, try moving the shifter out of the PARK position.
    • If the lever now moves freely in and out of PARK, perform the Circuit Test below.
    • If the shift lever still does not move from the PARK position, remove the BTSI solenoid from the shift lever assembly. If the shift lever now moves freely in and out of the park position, the BTSI solenoid is faulty and the interlock cable must be replaced. If the shift lever still does not move from the park position, the problem is in the shift lever assembly or the ignition interlock cassette

CAR CRANKS AND SOUNDS SMOOTH..NO LEAKING FLUIDS..NO WEIRD KNOCKS OR SOUNDS..BUT DROVE TO WORK...AND AFTER WORK...CAR WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO MOVE THE GEAR INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE!! AS FAR AS I KNOW TRANSMISSION...

as far as you know?
how long have you owned it?
can you move the shift lever into position & the car wont move or you just cant move the lever at all & that's why it won't move.
Have you checked the fluid level?
If you cant move the lever at all try holding down on the brake pedal. Most cars nowadays, you need your foot on the brake.

My shifter wont come out of park

It's likely the safety switch. There's a switch on the arm above the brake pedal that is closed when you push the brake down. This allows the transmission interlock to disengage so you can shift out of park. If the switch is bad (or misaligned), you won't be able to shift out of park. If you lay on the floor and look up the arm that holds the brake pedal, you'll likely see it. Make sure that when you press the pedal, it's closing the switch. If it's out of alignment, you should be able to loosen the nut and move it so it works. If it's aligned and the wires aren't damaged, then the switch has gone bad and will need to be replaced.
