The tank is full so why does the gauge indicate it's empty?

1. If it is a new car then Ford have to fix it under new car warranty if there is a fault. It their problem to fix - not yours.

2. If you have the car in your possession you can check if the fuel pump is working. Take the fuel cap off the tank filler tube. Have someone turn the ignition on in the car for 10 seconds and then off again (do not start the engine). Then on again for 10 seconds and off.. If you listen at the open fuel tank filler tube you will hear the pump run for 3 seconds or so and then stop once the ignition is turned on each time. If you hear nothing then the fuel pump is not operating and the fuse and relay for the fuel pump need to be checked. On a new car a problem with the fuel pump is very unlikely.

Car starts , idles a few seconds, then stalls

Could be a plugged fuel filter; very old gas (car has been sitting unused for some time) has pasted through fuel filter and clogged it. Fuel pump in gas tank is weak and the electric motor in fuel pump runs, gets hot and stops. Have someone listen behind the back bumper away from muffler. The sound of a fuel pump can be heard close to the underside of fuel tank (high pitch whine). If the sound stops before the car dies...that would indicate a faulty fuel pump.

Fuel lines in 2004 gmc Yukon froze. How do I get it to start again

Put some gas in it before you ruin the fuel pump. That is step #1.
Next, try running a heat gun or hair dryer over the fuel lines from one end to the other, if you suspect the fuel lines are frozen.
Hopefully that will be enough to get it going.

1994 Mercury Topaz 4cyl starts up for a few seconds, then stops, I did replace the Fuel Pump on 4/17/13 and I'm pretty sure the Fuel Pump assembly, that it had a new Fuel Pump Relay, not positive though....

swap your fuel pump relay with something like your horn relay but the relay is almost never the problem to check the fuel pump turn the key on and listen near the filler cap if the fuel pump buzzes the fuel pump will only buzz for 3 to 5 seconds check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail it could also be fuel filter stopped up or pressure regulator

FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH After a collision, if the engine cranks but does not start, the fuel pump shut-off switch may have been activated. The "Fuel Reset" indicator light will illuminate in the instrument cluster. The shut-off switch is a device intended to stop the electric fuel pump when your vehicle has been involved in a substantial jolt. 1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position. 2. Check the fuel system for leaks. 3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by pushing in the reset button. 4. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Pause for a few seconds and return the key to the OFF position. 5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system.

Fuel pump came on then went off

1) Are you certain that the original problem was the fuel pump?

2) Did you replace with a new or used fuel pump?

3) What are you using as an indication the fuel pump has failed?

Fuel low indicator going off in full tank

hi there well it seems that you have a problem with our sending unit in the gas tank maybe someone replaced the fuel pump and they replaced it with the more affordable aftermarket one or its also possible that the mechanic that installed this pump inside the tank danaged or bent the fuel float leaver you will have to dropp the fuel tank down or look for an acess hole under the carpet in your van and open tank and inspect for damaged float system try bending the float leaver wire down towards the bottom of the tank if this doesnt help the problem , you will have to install another sending unit without the fuel pump a little adjustment will do it though, ok hope this helps you a bit
