if there is a tow option on that truck check the wiring on the socket for the trailer.and where thy tie in to the rear lites sometimes ther is a short.hope this helps.lucas
Bad light bulbs are a good place to look...have you replaced any lately. Look for a bulb where the filiment may be broke and laying against the filiment below it. I would suspect the stop light bulbs first.
obviously first check the bulbs. If they are fine, check that a brake light connector is not diconnected. I have seen it once. The connector was used to power an accesory on the rear instead. Also, the connector or bulb sockets could be rusted or loosly connected. Hope this helps.
If you have a beebing noise every time you press on the brake, it is because a tail light is burnt out. There are two filaments in each brake light. Therefore, when you turn on your hazards, it will appear that both tail lights work properly. The beebing warning sound is actually a feature that Dodge put in the Rams so drivers would know their tale light is out. Just replace the tail light bulb, and the beebing will automatically cease. To get the tail light housing out, you will need a torex screw driver. Also, you twist the bulb housing out as opposed to pulling it out. There are three prongs that twist out.
you need to do basics first, check to see if bulbs are good, then verify no voltage at bulbs, check to see if your truck has has a tailor hitch and wiring installed. where they connect to your original wire is where you need to check first,
