Question about Cadillac CTS

The radio goes to static after 1 - 2 minutes. It will occasionally come back on briefly but will quickly become static again. The CD player works fine w/out static.

My 2003 honda accord radio/stereo audio goes dead abruptly, all I hear is occasional static. Sometimes, if I turn it on/off the sound may come back for a little while then goes to static/quiet again....

It sounds like something in the output circuit since it is both radio and CD.Obviously it hasn't been doing it from day 1 of getting the car or you wouldn't be just asking now right? The connector is not likely just because it doesn't get touched or anything. It needs repair or you may want to try a salvage yard for a used one or maybe even a whole new aftermarket one (Sony,Panasonic, etc.)For repair you are looking at removal, shipping, repair probably around $40-$60/hour.Parts have at least a 20% markup by repair centers. It may be a $2 part bad too.I would call a Honda dealer or an electronics repair center and they should be able to tell you maybe a little but you can't get an accurate cost unless you send it in.They normally will not charge you to ship it back if you send it and decide not to repair.Good luck! The AM/FM radio in my 2003 CTS faded to just

This sounds to me like the antenna wire may have become loose in the back of the radio. It just took a few weeks for it to become free. :) If you can maneuver your arm behind it, you should be able to push the connector back into the hole in the back of the radio. But the safest and most practical way to do it is to remove the radio from the dash and plug it in that way. :)

I hope this helps! Let me know if I can be of further assistance. :)

Radio 80c7e80b will not play, only get static on AM/FM CD Works

your radio is shot, and the cd and tape player still works. You have to buy a new radio if you want to listen to a radio.

Radio wont work, just clicks occasionally comes on

this sounds like a low battery voltage condition (should be at least 12.4 volts), check the battery cables to see if they clean & not corroded, if they are OK have the battery tested by a Kragen or Autozone parts store, it is free.

Sounds like you either left something loose or lost a piece of shielding. Was there a filter on the antenna that you forgot to put back on?

Radio and cigarette lighter

Check behind the dash for loose wiring connections. Check for bulkhead connectors that could have possibly come partially apart. Check for any under dash grounds that are ready to break or have become frayed.
