Try checking out your light bulbs in parking and backup light locations. Sometimes when one bulb goes out or just comes loose, it stops the entire circuit from operating.
Check all fuses with a test light with key on. This is the best way to do it on Fords. Change all blown fuses. Are the brake light BULBS OK? This is the more common cause of.....no brake lights. ....and don't forget the brake light switch if all this fails.
the reverse lights are controlled by and part of the transmission range selector switch, this switch is the large electrical switch on the top of the trans where the shift cable connects.
If the fuses are good and the front and rear bulbs are good, change the flasher for the turn signals, even tho the right is working. If that doesn't fix the problem, it might be in the turn sgnal switch on the steering column.
If both bulbs are good for the backup lights and fuses are good, then the backup light switch, which is screwed into the side of the transmission has to bad.
Not sure what transmssion you have but basically it goes from fuse on P/O wire to either the MLP switch on automatic or just a backup lamp switch on manual and leaves the switch on BK/PK wire to the bulbs. Should be easy to trace with a 12v test light.
the rev lights are turned on by the range switch on the top of the trans, if the bulbs and fuse are ok this is most likely the part that needs to be replaced
you have to open the boot and go in through that way. you know where the lights are? lift the carpet bit back and you should be able to do it that way. havent tried it myself but going to try and change mine tonite
