We have a 2004 Sienna. The outside handle is broken and the safety lock was accidentally engaged. Is there a way to get the door unlocked without removing the interior panel?

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe rear driver side door the outside door handle never worked you can only open it from the inside. accidentally flipped on the child safety lock now I can't open the door at all

It is fairly clear the door handle has detached from the wire that releases the latch. As you cnnot open from the interior handle currently you can only detach the door card and reatach the wire to the door handle. You might have to remove the seat adjacent to the door. I think it is probably a weekend job if you intend doing it yourself. There is no other way it could be done without inflicting damage I think. Essential for safety if you are carrying children/pets in the rear

I have a 2004 Mazda3 Sedan, the right rear door won't open even if it's unlock. How can I fix it?

From the inside only,or both handles?
If inside only, chances are your child safety lock is on in that door.Open door from the outside and look at it by the latch-there is a small white circle with a flat spot.Insert something(key, screwdriver) and turn. This is a safety function so kids can't open the doors from the inside. From time to time they seem to engage themselves.

Can not open back door on 2003 blazer. i'm trying to use emergency latch not working....

If you can't open the door from either the inside or outside, and the lock is moved to the "unlock" position, then the latch itself may be bad. First try manually locking and unlocking the door several times to see if the lock mechanism has gotten full of crud and see if that helps any. If it opens from the outside but not the inside then the child safety latch might be engaged which prevents the door from being opened accidentally from the inside by young children or the inner door handle linkage [in the door] might be broken. If nothing you do helps at all then you many have to remove the inner door panel to get to the latch linkage inside the door and try opening it there by manually moving these linkage rods. [not easy to do when the door won't open] Usually one of these methods will get the door open. Good luck and hope this helps a bit.

My 2004 Volvo S40 Drivers Side Door will not open from the outisde. The handle is not broken. There is no child safety lock on. It was fine on Friday. Car wasn't used on Saturday or Sunday but then Monday...

the handle might of broke internally, theres a rod and a clip that gets attached to the handle. i would take the door panel off and visual look at the latch mechanism and the rod that goes from that to the outside handle

Rear door on 2001 sienna won't open

The door handle might be broken, you need a new part. I got mine online for $40. keywords: 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 Toyota Sequoia Metal Lift Gate Exterior Door Handle for Rear Outside Van Tailgate Handle. You need to remove the back door panel to replace this.

The sliding door on our 1996 Toyota Sienna is broken shut (it cannot be opened). The door button on the inside nor the handle on the outside can mechanically effect the door. We do not have automatic door...

It sounds like the cable/bar in the door is broken or stuck

1. you will need to remove the door lining to get at the problem

2. could also be the door lock stuck in the lock position (does the door feel like it locks or unlocks when you use the lock)

3. could be the handle cable/ bar

NOTE some vehicles have cables while others have bars play with everything while you have the guts exposed this should help to locate the problem if nothing is moving while you play with the lock or handle this could be the problem
NOTE If nothing seems to be missing or out of place it could simply need to be lubed at the point where the door locks to the frame
