Question about 1988 Chevrolet S-10

1 Answer

It will not start unless you dump gas into throttle body.As soon as you stop with the gas it stops running. Injectors tested ok with noid light. It has a new IAC and a new map sensor. Timing is dead on. New distributor cap ,rotor ,plugs, and wires. Gas comes from injectors after it starts but will not continue to run. What's next?

You may have a defective fuel pump relay which is mounted near the center of the fire wall area. Also check for any securty lock out or problem. If all passes ok, then check the fuel pump for pressure at the fuel rail.

460 ford engine after being parked for 2 yrs wont start unless i feed gas into throttle body then not only does it start but stays running untill i quit feeding it gas.

Sounds to me like you are not getting any fuel to the engine, if you do not have fuel pressure to the throttle body then I would check the pump, if you do have pressure to the throttle body then your injectors are not opening.

Now it starts but wont stay running unless i pour gas down the intake. if i do that, it will run as long as i am pouring gas down intake, as soon as i stop it stops running. getting fuel up to throttl

Year make and model ? The injectors will open with zero pressure.
They use a magnetic valve. You should have voltage on one side and ground on the other when they are working.

Unless you have a clogged fuel line going into the throttle body, something got missed.
With the key on, can you ground one of the injectors and make it spray ?

Gas is not gettting pushed through the injectors on the throttle body. Gas is getting through the throttle body, but then it wont go through the injectors. Is this a wiring problem? I cleaned out...

1. Verify power using noid style test light (normal test light will not work)
2. If noid light illuminates when cranking engine the problem is the injector itself.
3. If light fails to flash the problem is electrical (IE PCM).

if you've gotta dump more gas in it than it should be getting, it may have a large vacuum leak

1992 Pace Arrow Motor Home 454 Chevy...not getting fuel to start

After you dump the fuel in the throttle body it will continue to run on its own or die as soon as it burns up all the fuel you dump in? Do you have access to (Noid lights)? Are both plugs attached to the distributor?

Not getting gas from injectors thottle body

remove the electrical connector at the throttle body and if you have a noid light stick it into the connector or you can just use the test light as a jumper between the two wires of the connectors and while you have some one cranking the engine see if the test light is flashing if it does flash then you have to check the fuel pump and make sure it works but if there is no light flashing while you crank the problem is in the ecm.
