To remove the booster you need to take a flat tipped screwdriver and pry up on the lip of the clip and slide it forward then remove the pine, you will have to unhook the vac. boost hose and master cylinder to get it off.

How do u change the brake booster on a 99 Monte carlo

Hi Michelle, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

This is an easy task with the correct tools.

First, pump the brakes 20 times with the key off. Next, remove the 2 nuts that hold the master cylinder in place. Next, pull the master cylinder back and out of the brake booster. Next, go inside the vehicle and on the brake pedal arm you see the brake booster rod attached to the brake pedal arm by a retainer clip. Next, remove the clip and slide the rod away from the pedal arm. Next, around the brake booster rod at the firewall you'll see 4 nuts you'll need to remove those 4 nuts then push the booster backward out of the firewall. Next, go back under the hood and pull the booster past the master cylinder. NOTE: You should have enough room to force the booster past the master cylinder. Replace the new booster and hook up the vacuum hose and your done. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website here: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

How do you replace the brake booster on a 1989 Lincoln town car?

Remove vacuum hose from booster. Remove the two nuts holding the brake master cylinder to the booster. Carefully move booster to one side for ease of removal. Under the dashboard drivers side, remove the clip connecting the brake pedal to the booster actuator rod. Remove the two nuts holding the booster to the firewall. Outside, remove the booster. Installation is reverse of removal. There may be an adjustable rod in the replacement booster. It is important that it is adjusted properly or you may not have brakes or you could damage the master cylinder. Looking at the old booster, check to see how far the rod extends out the front of the booster. Check the new booster and make sure that the new rod extends the same distance. DO NOT ADJUST THE RODS TO THE SAME LENGTH BY PLACING THEM SIDE BY SIDE! Different designs could cause different rod length internal to the booster. What is important is the amount that extends out from the booster. This distance will not change since the master cylinder bolts directly up to the booster.

Brake booster from 1997 vw jetta removal instructions

Hi. Ther is a special tool for this, but it is clumsy and difficult. The plastic retainer is cheap enough to just break it out and fit a new one in place. fit it into the pedal first then clip the rod in otherwise the rod breaks through the clip before it seats into the pedal.

I am trying to replace the brake booster on my 1995 chevy silverado and can not figure out how to remove the brake pedal.

the brake pedal would not ned to be removed to change this out. when you lay under the steeering column, you would be able to see the coneting rod..it is held on with a c clip. once the clip is removed you can then slide the rod of and pull it out throgh the fire wall (of course after master is out of the way...be suure to not turn the rod on booster as many have adjustable lenght rods that if out of adjustment can apply your brakes without physicaly applying the brake pedal...hope this helps

assume u are talking about brake booster
first unbolt the two the two nuts attaching master cylinder to booster should be able to leave brake lines on master cylinder just move master cyinder to side bending lines slightly ok just dont kink them
Now on brake pedal remove rod from brake pedal usally held on with pin and clip
now follow that rod up to fire wall you see that rod goes thu the fire wall above that rod should be two bolts and nuts and bellow that rod should be two bolts and nuts remove all four nuts then u should be able to pull boster from eninge compartment

How do you get a power booster off a 1999 town and country van?

Your power brake booster is bolted to the rear engine compartment, or firewall, from the inside , so you need to disconnect the rod from the brake pedal, and locate and remove the bolts that hold it. You also have to unbolt your brake master cylinder too.

First remove the 2 nuts that hold the master cylinder to the booster. Then remove the vac hose. Then remove the clip at the brake pedal to the rod. Then remove the 4 nuts that hold the booster near the brake pedal. Then remove the booster and install in reverse order. Let me know how it goes.

Need to replace a brake booster on a 1998 chevy cavalier

get ready for some work.you need to remove the master cylinder nuts that hold master cylinder to brake booster.once you remove nuts you have 2 choices remove master cylinder to remove booster. to keep from bending brake lines.or you can leave master cylinder in pull it toward you easily careful dont bend lines .disconnect vacuum line at booster .go inside vechicle to floor on driver side loosen four nuts on floor to booster .disconnect power brake push rod from brake pedal .dont force pushrod to the sides when disconnecting it.remove four booster nuts then remove booster.when in stalling the new booster loosely install four nuts then connect the push rod to the brake pedal .install new clip tighten the booster unit .if you decide to remove master cylinder use inline wrenches on master cylinder to remove lines.also plug the master cylinder brake line holes to keep from losing all brake fluid.
