Hi there,

AC clutch is powered by your battery. If your clutch is not engaging, this could be a bad fuse, a wiring problem, a broken AC switch in your dash, or the system could be low on refrigerant (most systems have a low-pressure safety cutout that will disable the compressor if there isn't enough refrigerant in the system).

After you start the car, the car is still on neutral once you press the clutch in then the car makes screeching noise. This also happens when changing gears.

Something is wrong within the clutch: either the pressure plate or the bearing are damaged and they will have to be replaced.

I have a 2003 Impala Base 3400 V6...And my AC is making a sound. I was told its the clucth when you turn on the ac. Is that fixable at home or take it back in to the shop.

wuold suggest you replace complete assy clutch and comp this will be more expensive but will be better in the long run if a clutch goes bad usually form to much strain from compressure pressures if you do this at home you will still need to see a shop for vacume on the system before recharge

What could be wrong when toyota has power but when you push clutch in to start engine nostart

Some manual transmission cars have a switch on the clucth pedal so the engine won't start unless the clutch is pressed in. You could have a defective switch.

Nissan Altima 1992 -AC clucth is not engauging after 10-12km .

Replace the A/C compressor if the Magnetic clutch is bad. You can try and take it apart to clean but you will never know for sure if it will bereliable. The system will have to be drained to replace. Also if it is not a R134a system you may have to have it converted. Seals and such replaced.
