Question about 1993 Nissan Maxima

1 Answer

Filled up my 1993 Nissan Maxima with fuel shortly after notice a good stream of fuel coming from under the car. It was only coming out when the car was running. Had car towed, next morning checked for leaks, no fuel leak any where, even with car running. Any suggestions?

Where is fuel filter on 96 Nissan maxima

Look under the car, passenger side. Follow the fuel/emmisions lines from the fuel tank. They will pass under a protective cover that comes off with a 10mm socket. The fuel filter is under the plate.

Where do I place transmission fluid in my 1993 Nissan Maxima? Thank you!

Like most of the Nissan products tranny fluid is added by pouring it down the tranny Dip-stick tube ( no I'm not kidding).Get a small funnel and add a little bit at a time until the fluid level comes up.Sometimes a tight fitting piece of hose on the tube makes the job easier. We have one made up like this in my auto shop and it cuts down on spilt fluid. Good Luck

Could be faulty Camshaft Position Sensor. Either way it sounds like bad sensor. It may also be faulty coil packs. You should remove one plug at a time, replug it into the wire, and lay across motor and have someone else turn the motor over to see if you have any spark. If no spark in one or two cylinders, then coil pack will need replacement. If spark is good, then check fuel pressure to make sure engine is getting fuel to all cylinders. If the engine is getting fuel, then it must be a sensor.

1993 Maxima, low idle skip, on 4th cylinder, code on computer comes back fuel injector signal circuit fault, code 51. Does anyone know what can fix it? Also, injector checks out good, plug works good,...

Well the answer is right there. Its not the injector itself. Its the circuit leading into the injector that is not working. What that means is the computer cant tell the injector when to spray the right amount of fuel because the signal is not getting to the injector due to the circuit not working. Have a mechanic check that with a probe to verify

Fuel problem

I had the same problem with my 99 Subaru Forester and it was caused by oil leaking and getting into the spark plugs. We only needed to remove & clean one of the plugs and then we were running smoothly again. Very well could not be what your problem is but it's worth a shot mentioning.
