Try pumping the accelarator about 4 times before cranking it over. If that doesn't work prime with some fresh fuel and it should start up.

My 95 Pathfinder has sat idle for a couple months and now it won't start.

letting a vehicle sit idle for months is not good !!! now you need to do some work, so get out your check book ! replace both air & fuel filters, replace spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, add fresh fuel & fuel injector cleaner to tank @ same time. why are you going from accessory to run, that doesn't make any sense, stop it, please ! now get to work, good luck !

There was rainstorm that I drove my jaguar xj-6 1997 through yesterday. It won't start now. what could be wrong with it?

If your car has a distributor cap then condensation got in it and must be dried off with a paper towel. you must loosen the cap, usually has 2 screws or clips.

As gasoline sits idle for that length of time, it turns into shellac.
this in turn plugs up the orifices in the carb, use a good quality carb cleaner, or fuel injector cleaner as the case maybe. follow the directions carefully. You may have to do this a couple of times.
Good Luck

2yahoo.comlet xj8l sit idle not starting it for 1 year i think gasoline varnished

There could be many reasons why the car won't start. If you are correct about the gas, and the injectors aren't clogged, Syphening out the old gas, adding fresh premium gas, and having a helper spray starting fluid in short bursts into the air filter intake while you turn the engine over should start the car. Good Luck.

1998 Honda Accord revs while idling

replace fuel filter when you can. but first, go to parts store and buy a can of SEAFOAM, and pour it in to at least 1/2 tank of PREMIUM gas. you have EGS(ethanol gas syndrome). With the car sitting, the ethanol has turned to goop and water, and is clogging your system. after changing fuel filter(it will probably be partially clogged), add SF to your fuel every 3-5000 miles, to eliminate this problem. you should also see a marked improvement in MPG. good luck.
