SOURCE: where the thermostat is located on a 2000 dodge

If you look down on the radiator, on the left side, there is a larrge hose coming out of the radiator toward the engine. Where the hose ends there is a housing with 2 bolts. The Thermostat is found under that. Remove the 2 bolts an replace the thermostat. Unles your arms are very long and thin, you will probably need to do this from under the car.

SOURCE: 2000 dodge darango has no heat, looks like its

I have a 2000 Durango with a leaking heater core. I bypassed it because 1. It leaks coolant into the inside of the passenger compartment and fogs the heck out of the windows! And 2. You have to remove the entire dash to replace it. The core is only about $55, but the labor is a couple of days for a "good" DIY Mechanic. It's about $1,200 in labor to have a shop do it.
I'm in So. Cal. So it doesn't hurt too bad to be chilly in the morning.
Good luck!

Why would the fan not come on

There is a temperature sensor that turns the fan on and off. Generally, it looks like a button battery and is close to the fan motor.

it was bypassed because the previous owner didn't want to change the leaking heater core, it is a big job.

Where is the thermostat located on a 2000 dodge durango

Follow your upper radiator hose from the radiator to the top of your engine, there where it clamps on is the thermostat housing, remove hose and two or three small bolt's that hold thermostat housing under that is where the thermostat is at. Remmeber that the spring side of the thermostat is what goes into the engine side, facing down.

Popping and grinding noise coming from the right front tire.

it depends if you have 2WD or 4WD, probably either your CV joints, or your wheel bearing, also have your upper and lower ball joints looked at, durangos are bad for those going out. 4WD could have additional problems, like transfer case, front axle bent, and other 4WD probs. i had a similar problem and it was my wheel bearing. buy it offline, not at the parts store, it saved me $140. compared to O'riely Auto Parts.
