My 2007 honda accord has igination key problem,i remove the remote and weld a washer to the key. Now the car could not start, please what may be the problem and how will i fix it

Keys are fitted with transponders that are recognised by the car and allow the engine to start. If you have a key without a recognised transponder then even if the key will turn in the lock, the car will not start. You may have possibly damaged or even destroyed the transponder when you welded the washer to the key.

How toprogramm car key toyota matrix

  • 1 First you will need to purchase a blank Toyota transponder key. You can do this from the dealership, a locksmith, or an online source such as eBay. Once you have the key, take the blank key and the master key to a locksmith that he or she can duplicate the key. This will be much cheaper than the dealership.
  • 2 Now that you have the newly cut key and the master key, you can program the Toyota transponder key. Sit in the driver's side of the Toyota vehicle. Press and release the brake and gas pedal simultaneously.
  • 3 Insert the master transponder key. Do not turn it. Push and release the gas pedal 5 times within at least 15 seconds of inserting the master key.
  • 4 Press and release the brake pedal 6 times within 20 seconds of completing step 3, then remove the master transponder key.
  • 5 Insert the newly cut transponder key into the ignition, but do not turn. Press the gas pedal once.
  • 6 Wait up to 2 minutes or whenever the security light on the dashboard turns off. Once the light goes off, remove the new transponder key and press the brake pedal once. The new transponder key should now be programmed. Test the key by attempting to start the engine. If the engine does not start, repeat the steps above.

2008 colbalt safety neutral switch location

Hi Candi , are there any lights lit on the dash ? check engine , security ? or a yellow wrench symbol ? This vehicle has a anti-theft system an if you don't use the correct key or for some reason it thinks it's not the right key it will not start . Do you have more then one such key on your key ring ? Inside the head of the key is a transponder an when you stick the key in the ignition there is an antenna behind the plastic steering wheel cover , the antenna powers up the transponder chip an it transmits a coded signal ! If you have more then one key on your key ring it can cause interference an not start. Also if you have a lot of stuff on your key ring , it can cause problems Too. Before you start changing parts because someone said it could be this or that , do your yourself a favor an have a pro check it out . This system is very complex , the transponder tells the theft deterrent module an it tells the body control module an that one tells the PCM - powertrain control module an if the PCM does not see the correct response it will disable the vehicle ! There is a crank relay in the under hood fuse box an if you have no lights on the dash checks could be made right there ! Electrical Relays And Your Car

2001 hyundai santa fe, was running fine, went to crank it, all lights and chimes work, but it will not start. Not the battery, not the starter, thought possibly it was a transponder key, but was informed...

dear friend:this might sound stupid, but remove the key from the barrel and try again, then see if the dash lights dim when trying to start,if it does the battery is to flat to turn the engine,if it is a auto shift the lever slightly forward and backward to make sure it is not the neutral switch.

    P1685 Skim Invalid Key.

The Sentry Key Immobilizer Module contains a Radio Frequency (RF) transceiver and a microprocessor. The SKIM transmits RF signals to, and receives RF signals from the Sentry Key transponder through a tuned antenna ring integral to the SKIM housing. When the ignition switch is turned to the On position, the SKIM transmits an RF signal to the transponder in the ignition key. The SKIM then waits for an RF signal response from the transponder. If the response received identifies the key as valid, the SKIM sends a valid key message to the PCM over the PCI data bus. If the response received identifies the key as invalid, or if no response is received from the key transponder, the SKIM sends an invalid key message to the PCM. The PCM will enable or disable engine operation based upon the status of the SKIM messages.

Engine stalls after a few seconds..'99 Venture

Does the security light flash or come on steady ? Have a lot of thing's on your key ring ? Other key's with transponder inside , Do you know what a transponder is ?

    The Ignition Key (Transponder)
The ignition key for PASS-Key® III equipped vehicles is a typical ignition key using a transponder pellet located in the end of the key. The ignition key transponder value is used in order to determine if a valid ignition key is being used in order to start the vehicle. When the ignition key is inserted into the ignition cylinder and the PASS-Key® III module detects the ignition voltage (the ignition switch is in RUN or START) the module measures the transponder pellet value. The PASS-Key® III module validates this value and performs the following functions:
    • If the ignition key transponder value is valid, the PASS-Key® III module performs the following (system enable) functions:
    - The PASS-Key® III module sends a pulse width modulated signal to the PCM to request fuel enable.
    - The PCM enables the fuel system.
    - This function enables the engine to start.
    • If the ignition key transponder value is invalid, the PASS-Key® performs the following (system disable) functions:
    - The PASS-Key® III module does not send the fuel request signal to the PCM.
    - The PCM does not enable the fuel system.
    - This function does not enable the engine to start and run. The engine may start and then stall due to residual fuel in the fuel system.
The PASS-Key® III module can identify up to 10 valid key codes to operate the vehicle.

Having excess thing's on you ring , including other PASS-Key® III keys , can confuse the computers .
