I have a renault espace m reg 1995. The heater fan is only working on the fastest speed and not the 1st 3 speeds. It is blowing out hot air so that is ok. Just the speeds packed up. Any ideas

its the thermal fuse on the heater risistor, if you remove the blower motor from under the bonnet and remove the heater resistor you can then buy a 79p thermal fuse from maplins and solder it on i have done it on all my espaces

Renault espace 02 reg diesel 2.2 heater fans not working control switch working

tipical espace, it wont work or only works on full speed is usually the problems. its the heater resistor, usually a thermal fuse goes on it which can be brought from maplins for 95p.

I have a renault espace grand x reg 2.0 with an emissions warning light on can i still drive it

hi, its not advisable to drive the vehicle in the long term as build up of carbon inside the engine and valves could cause expensive damage the chances are your problem is going to be with the oxygen sensor (lambda sensor) as this light is on your fuel economy will be lower due to the fuel air mixture being incorrect.

The first thing i would try would be to buy a fuel additive cleaner that you pour into the tank and then run the car for about 25 miles and this will then work its way through all the fuel lines and the injectors cleaning out any muck along the way, doing this will sometimes solve the problem your having.
You can buy this fuel additive from most petrol stations or car spares shops just make sure you buy the correct type ie for petrol or diesel engines then follow the instruction on the back of the bottle this might solve your problem.

If that dont work then the oxygen sensor will need replacing sooner rather than later its not a big job but it will solve your problem and ensure your vehicle is running as it should ensuring maximum mpg.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Espace wont satrt with starter motor but starts on a bump or easy start!

sounds like the dreaded renault immobiliser ,in which case its dealer only as software encrypted.whats happening is the immobiliser is stopping it from starting when key is in start position cranking but it will go with a bump as starter motor key position not activated .try a wire from battery to small connector on starter motor .if it starts which i think it will then you know what to do ...old fashioned way with a push button.but are you getting prepared to lay the golden egg ???just in case

Renault espace starting problems

I have a 2000 Espace and for years it has suffered from a non-start problem. It can be fine for ages and then, suddenly, there's nothing when you turn the ignition, not even a click. All instruments light up. It's not the battery. Does this sound familiar?

In my case, time and time again it has been what they call the 'firewire' connection on to the starter - the connection becomes corroded over time and fails to pass sufficient voltage.

If the terminal becomes too badly burned, where the voltage has arced because of a poor connection, apparently the only solution is to fit a new starter motor. But so far, in my case, it's just needed a clean of the connector and terminal.

By the way, holding the ignition key in the ON position for some time (30 seconds or more) can sometimes cause it to fire up.
