99 Jetta. Distributor

99 Jetta. Received code that distributor is going bad. Looked-up the distributor for my car. It shows the cap on it as one piece, however there appears to be a "coil pack" on top of it attached in my car? Can someone help me out? Thank you very much!!

I took this information off the "coil pack"

My RPMs are jumping all over the place causing my car to shake when i drive it. Can some one help me out?

first of all, pull off distributor cap and check for wear on inside and also inside cap. The tachometer is driven by the signal from the ICM (Ignition Control Module) located within the distributor. The signal is on the blue wire and usually when the ICM begins to go bad it can cause your tach to go crazy. If the ICM is ok the wiring needs to be looked at from distributor to tach guage. good day!

Am not getting spark in my 1991 olds cutlass ciera. what could it be? for a week it would start sometimes, and the next time it won't start again. now it won't start at all. checked a plug...

have you checked the distributor cap and rotor because the spark has to come from these two things first and should be replaced when they get bad so please make sure when you check the distributor cap that you use a permanant black marker on the side of distributor cap and where it was placed at so you know the same place you took it off. If you take off the distributor cap and it shows the connections inside showing black on them that this is your problem and all distributors get bad because they become worned out by the rotor inside wear. If the distributor and cap are clean or do not have any black stuff on them that it could be the coil that went bad too so its a trouble shotting by looking at first the distributor cap and rotor. If you know how to use a multimeter and have one handy that you can check how much voltages is coming through the spark plug wires.

Where is the distibutor cap on a 1993 Jetta Wagon?

Hi, look on the engine block for the place where all the spark plug wires go, and you've find the distributor. Unsnap all clips and take off the distributor cap and suppressor shield, leaving the spark plug wires attached.

99 nissan quest p0301, I replaced the sparkplugs already and im still having the same code, whats could it be?

Pretty sure this engine has a distributor. Could be a bad ignition wire, cap or rotor. Pick up all 3 and change em out. Pretty cheap fix. Check ebay and put in "nissan quest ignition". Or take a trip to autozone carquest etc... If your engine had coil packs and not a distributor, it is usually a bad pack. Good luck

pull the distributor, and move it closer to the mark. This way when you make your final adjustments you can just use your light and cap movements.
