Where can I get a diagram that will show me where the cam sensor is on a 2008 Ford Taurus X AWD

Below is a diagram of the most common Taurus engine for your vehicle. If you have the SHO model, a duel overhead cam or the 3.4 liter engine it will be different. If you do have the other models just reply here and I will show you the correct one. Hope this is the right one and I hope it helps....

The Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor is a permanent magnet output coil device that monitors the speed and position of the crankshaft. A reluctor is attached directly to the crankshaft, and is used to generate a constant signal as it passes the CKP sensor magnetic coil. The CKP Sensor utilizes system voltage (12 volts DC), or reference voltage (5 volts DC) to generate a digital output signal to the PCM that is based upon a 0.5 volt AC reference. The alternating magnetic field is used by the sensor output electronics to produce a digital pulse. The CKP sensor returns a digital ON/OFF signal pulse during each revolution of the crankshaft, with a momentary signal interrupt for the top dead center (TDC) position of the #1 cylinder. The Pulse Width Modulation pattern is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to calculate ignition timing, fuel injector timing, misfire diagnostics, and the tachometer display

put some oil on the hinge at the end of the arm ,and woirk it in then it will be just fine the hinge has corroded thats all

I would get a hold of someone in Ford customer service because you should have a 3years or 36,000mile warrenty on this car and you should not be having all the problems you are having I am a Ford man and I have had 6 taurus myself and never had any of the problems you are having and mine have all been bought used with previous owners. this is something I would like for you do for me and let me know open the driverside door and look at the build date and if it is somewhere around a holiday this maybe your problem cause at that time everyone is thinking about celebrating and not thinking about the quality of their work.
