Exact same prob

06 f350 SD fx4 lifted with procomp and running bfg all terrain 37x13.50R20
Steering was slow and hard at low speed and when driving the steering wheel was pulling left to right pretty hard. Dealer installed new stg box and then I took it back and they had to put in a new stg pump. Funny though it seemed to fix but still with the bigger tires you prob have to put up with that. On a lock to lock turn ,my tires rub a bit too.Probably not lifted high enough it is now 6" bye 4 now jim

Check with www.rockymountainsusp.com I think they have a larger power steering pump that will give you more psi at lower rpm's

What causes my 2-wheel drive ranger to vibrate hard when I turn the steering wheel at low speeds only, like pulling out of garage? also does it in reverse. makes a noise near the rear when it is vibra

i would say it is a solenoid or air in the power steering lines but you would have to put a obd2 scanner and see what it says.
if i remember correct bleeding is as simple as removing the power steering cap and turning steering all the way left hold for 5 seconds then right and hold but you will need to look at oil in reservoir and see if it is bubbling while turning and holding. you will need a helper and if it is do this for 5-10 minutes.

My z71 tahoe has a clear thump shake on the steering wheel when I turn onto a slope, into an alley for example(slow speed). when I drive on the highway its smooth, what can it possibly be.

There are several things that cause low speed thumping if rear differential has been service or in need of they require a specail additive 4 ounce limited slip lube aftermarket grease doe not work . 2 nd if it is a hard turn steering in against steering lock alignment issues caster out of specs.

My 06 grand cherokee laredo has a 4x4 emblem on the vehicle, and a traction button on the dash, how do I operate the 4x4?

Your jeep should have full time four wheel drive. To place the transfer case in low range look down to the console towards the rear and you will see a "T" shaped handle. To place it into low range you should stop place the vehicle into park and lift the T handle and in the dash a 4X4 indicator lamp will light up. The traction button on the dash would be used in 4 wheel high mode when you start to experience wheel slippage upon take off from a stopped position. This will give you a little more control. You only need to use the low range for very slow speeds in mud or snow. Otherwise just leave it in high range because it is always using 4 wheel drive. This is a very reliable system which Jeep has refined over the years. Your Grand Cherokee is not designed fro hard core off road use. Hard core off road use will destroy the undercarriage. The Grand Cherokee is more of a luxury soccer mom 4X4 with good road manners, a comfortable ride, and good reliability.

YOU HAVE AIR IN THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM.YOU NEED TO BLEED POWER STEERING PUMP FIRST BEFORE DRIVING VECHICLE.CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL ADD MORE POWER STEERING UNTIL REACH FULL COLD MARK..RAISE VECHICLE FRONT WHEELS OFF THE GROUND.START ENGINE LET IT IDLE WHILE TURNING STEERING WHEEL LEFT TO RIGHT NON STOP DONT LOCK OR STOP STEERING WHEEL KEEP TURNING IT SEVERAL TIMES CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID IF LOW ADD UNTIL YOU GET COLD MARK ON DIP STICK DONT OVER FILL POWER STEERING PUMP BLOW A SEAL.IF POWER STEERING FLUID LOOK TAN COLOR SYSTEM FULL OF AIR.TURN OFF IGNITION LET CAR SET FOR A WHILE CHECK FLUID LEVEL.IF STEERING WHEEL FEEL STIFF HARD TURNING DONT DRIVE CAR UNTIL YOU HAVE NORMAL STEERING.IF STILL HAVE AIR IN SYSTEM BLEED SYSTEM UNTIL AIR IS OUT.

When place in four wheel steering becomes very hard, and pulling in my driveway front tires locked up. only happens in 4 wheel. 2005 dakota

A Dodge Dakota with 4-wheel steer? Do you happen to mean 4-wheel drive?

If so, you should not operate the vehicle in 4-wheel drive when you are traveling on a hard, high-traction surface. When in 4x4, the transfer case connects the front and rear axles, and does not allow for differentiation of wheel speeds necessary when turning. This is compensated for when driving over low-traction terrain because the tires slip easier.

Basically, the jerking, bucking and locking of the truck is due to the binding. This will eventually lead to damage in the driveline. If the roadway isn't covered in snow, there is no need for the 4 wheel drive to be engaged.
