I purchased a Fiat Palio 1.9 D in Jan,2005 which was manufactured in 2004. It has always troubled me every year for the fuel pump sensor errors. The light of engine error does not go when the engine starts in the morning.. then it goes off after the engine is started again. This happens every year.. i think the pumps were faulty and the dealers nvertold the customers about this. I had to get this pump serviced every year. it was free during first year but i paid 7000 to the dealer next time, for 2 years. now again the same problem.... But the dealer has closed down the authorised shop and runs a workshop which has no engine analysers.. Is TATA having Engine analysers ??? i doubt as they are selling only new fiat vehicles with improved engines. Can the sensors be bypassed??? or there should be some other rememdy for this problem. i always use Hispeed/xtra mile diesel... still i face this problem... please help..
Hello sir...its a problem related to the sensors inside the pump...i run a car service centre at chennai...and we were authorised dealers for fiat when the company was running...as far as this problem is concerned, we are trained in repairing this problem and can solve your issue if you can manage getting your car to chennai...the sensors inside the pump require replacement and we source it from the plant and get it done...
Hi vijay i have a Fiat palio 1.9D Elx when ever i start the engine after the heater is off the accelerator is not working & and the check engine light is ON,if i start the car straight away there is no problem. any possible ideas or let me know your contact #
I am facing problem that my palio 1.9 D will start in first try and it will go off immediately within 1-3 seconds and then it will take much longer ignitions almost 8-9 times and then it will start.. or sometimes it wont start at all.. any suggestions plz
Try putting a separate fuel pump from any autoparts store just bypass the one you have. wiring and lines could be used to install new one also change fuel filter.

Need more information about car. How many miles? Is the problem all the time? Is the car stock or has it been modified with bigger injectors, fuel pump, fuel regulator? If it is modified for more fuel you need to trick the oxygen sensors into reading less fuel.
If the car is stock: Any condition that causes the engine to run lean such as a weak fuel pump, a clogged fuel filter, or a faulty fuel pressure regulator
Any condition that causes the engine to run rich such as a mass air flow sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor, or a faulty fuel pressure regulator
its marked on the coil
and on the valve cover
its a wasted spark system.
the coil is marked (if not sub coil)

1 goes to 1 front cylinder spark.
2 goes to 2.
3 to 3
4 to 4 rear spark.
the ecu knows the order but the wires MUST be right.
#1 spark is closest to front engine pulley, (belt side)
#4 is rear.
use a voltmeter , this magic tool never lies. measure the voltage. better , have your claims adjuster , fix it, for free. you said it has no power, what does that mean? 1: it dont buzz 2: the pump has 0 PSI pressure with a gauge. 3: my volt meter shows 0v to the pump.
You can give to any Fiat service centre and utimatly they will send to Mumbai Lucas (only place in India) . cost will go from 8000 to 25000 depends on sensor damaged .
