i think it is a wiring problem mine does the same i keep pressing the bottom on and off then after a while it came on and stayed on then a few months later i pluged a satnav in the power point then it messed up the air conditioning again i have had a lot of wiring problems with mine

yes the drain line is clogged,, its located along the firewall and is a bear to see,, if you get under the vehicle, and look along the edge you'll see it don't blow air into it , that will just make the clog worse, take a wire, and gently ease it up into the tube, working slowly , be ready to get wet,, once you loosen the clog the water behind it will flush it out, and sometimes there is quite a lot
