Holden rodeo 98' 4wd petrol v6

I went to turn on my a/c the other day and the fan speed does not seem to work on any speeds

but the a/c light lights up blue,

i have checked the fuses there all good
,
i then pulled the dash apart to find the wiring harness

i have cleaned up the fan speed switch,,

than i found the fan speed resistor and i have power into but not out of the fan speed resistor

so i got a new resistor but it still wont work

what else could be the problem ?

maybe the fan speed switch even though i have pulled it apart and cleaned the brass, that contacts together maybe it needs replacing?

or do you reckon i may need a new fan motor?

or wat do i do?

any help would be great, thanks heaps

We had a similar problem . The resistor was burnt out, ( Can be fixed with a soldering iron) bit the fan was jammed . I aplied wd40 and slowly worked it by hand and it finally started to work again.. Saved me a rsisitor cost and a fan replacement. Good luck, Joe

Apply 12v power directly to the fan motor to check that it runs. (also ensure fan motor has a ground connection)
If it doesn't run when powered directly the fan motor requires repair or replacement.

2002 isuzu rodeo 4 cyl twin electric radiator fans when cold turn igniton on fans run on high speed , it has a brand new battery and the alternater is checked ok it will not run hot and after it runs

Assuming the check engine light is not on, I would want to know what the engine temp sensor is doing.
A scanner would tell you what the temp sensor is showing - if it is unplugged or there is a problem with the wiring the fans will run as a default to prevent the engine from overheating. It could be a fan relay but I doubt it. A relay usually works or not.

"when the fuel pump kicks....it makes a very short duration sound....you can hear it....but in seconds it will be gone......as gasoline has made its way to the engine.........

if you cant hear any noise from the fuel pump......it could be that the fuel pump realy is bad........if you happen to change the relay....and it still does not work.....then it is the fuel pump. that is fried.......

about the water.....i am not shure......unless there was water in the gasoline itself....or somebody put water in there in purpose....

hope this helps...

Hi guys, I have a Holden rodeo 2004 3.5 v6 2wheel drive crew cab. It won't start and seems no petrol is flowing into the filter mounted on the front end of the petrol tank. Is the fuel pump supposed to...

the fuel pump should make a wineing noise when the key is on
but just because its not running its not necessarily a bad pump
check the fuse and the relay and make shure you have power getting to the pump before you replace the pump

whater in the fuel can come from any number of places condensation in the tank, bad fuel from the station.

Holden Rodeo 2001, check engine light keeps coming on!?

I'm having same problem on my 2000 model rodeo 4wd 3.2L V6. Other day check engine light came on. I checked engine bay nothing abnormal, or power loss. Next day light was gone. 2 days later driving, a sudden loss of power and light came up. After idling for a couple of minutes, drove off with light still on but all power back. 1 hour later of faultless driving loss of power for a minute or so. Engine temp normal. Had break for 1/2 hour and set off for last hour of journey without fault except check engine light still on. Following dayon startup light went out???
Seeking help from experts.
