I had tried to jack up the rear wheel but it didn't turn at all. The handbrake level feels ok, some pressure while pulling it, so my guess is the cable is fine. Probably master cylinder. Thanks for the advise.

Are the brakes locked when the engine is off? give this a try don't start it put it in neutral and have someone give it a push if it moves you have a brake booster problem... if not you may have a master cylinder or anti lock brake problem... if the rear wheels are the only ones that are stuck it is the emergency brake cable it may have been overtightened or again become stuck do to contaminant's in any case you will have to get this to someone that has a little knowledge of vehicles have a look at this

I know that this doesn't solve the problem but it can give you a starting point to the solution

Can i flat tow a 2006 xtype jaguar behind a motorhome

I would be afraid to tow with any of the wheels on pavement. You could burn out the central differential.

My car has a sound coming from the rear wheels..checked the brake pads, they are fine....Mechanic says its a diff, and i hear it can be removed, then continue use the car with no problems. Please advice!!

Yaris is front wheel drive car. The noise may be coming out of the rear wheel bearings. This often happens if the bearings become aged or when the water traps into the bearings.
Thanks

2007 Hyundai Sonata At least two or three times a week, the steering becomes locked and I can't turn the ignition key in the ignition. I've tried moving the wheel left and right while attempting...

It's not "normal" - it's an ian ignition key lock freeze-up as a known issue; I finally had to get the entire assembly replaced on my Hyundai 2007 Sonata. It happened to me about 8 times and had to have the car towed 2xs....finally relaced it under the 100k warranty to get it fixed = it's covered. Take it into Service and have them fix it.

Tractio control light comes on and can't

You most likely have a problem with one of the ABS wheel speed sensors or the ABS unit itself. ABS and Traction Control work together in your vehicle. The system thinks that one of the wheels isn't turning and then limits the power or may even apply the brakes on the other wheels in an attempt to remedy the problem. You'll most likely need to have the system hooked up to so the sensor inputs can be checked for faults.

Rear brake locked up

Is it a constant four wheel drive, i can assume you did not try and tow the vehicle in four wheel drive with the two front wheels up in the air????? sounds like you've broken the rear dif box!

Automatic engine immobilizer wo'nt reset

The immobilizer does not "lock" the ignition, it does not energize the fuel injection relay. What you have is a "locked" steering column. Put the key in the ignition, and pull/turn the steering wheel HARD left or right, whilst turning the key to on or start. Do BOTH at the same time. The action of you pulling on the steering wheel will unlock the steering column.

I have a 2006 subaru Impreza, regular economy model (2.5i I think)... It was recently towed with the front wheels in the air and the back wheels on the ground. The back wheels rolled smoothly and it didn't...

That rule applies to automatic trans cars only, you did not say what trans you had, in any event if any damage was done the problem would show up right away.
