Replace your cabin air filter
Very unlikely scenario but I actually worked on a car with the same problem a few years ago. I got to work opening up the dash to get to the heater box and noticed acorn shells falling out here and there. When I finally got the heater box open, I found that a rodent had made a nest inside the air duct. There was insulation from under the hood packed into the blower wheel and a bunch of acorns all over the place in there.

where is that located?
any way to tell if that's the problem?
The fan itself should be in the passenger front footwear, under the glove box. The HVAC air filter should be close to it.
