Question about 1998 Ford F150 Regular Cab
I bought a 98 f 150 that sat for a year has 78000 miles and they got these wires running from the starter relay or whatever it is to a toggle switch inside the truck to bypass the ignition will that hurt the truck and cause the battery light to stay on, and the alternator went out and put on a new one and the battery light came on after about 10 mins of reg driving
There are three wires on the alternator. one is a feedback voltage that switches on the alternator via the internal voltage regulator..there is an 18 gauge fusible link that runs from that wire to the battery to sense the voltage. they are fuses, but look like a regular piece of wire, they blow quite often, get the wiring diagram for the vehicle
