Sounds like antifreeze leaking in to me. Ports at rear of intake are trick and easy to get that gasket mis-aligned. Hate to say it but when you take the intake back off I imagine the culprit will be obvious. Only other thing is that the intake wsa fine and you actually had a blown head gasket.
Vehicle has a hair line crack in head gasket. It will not register on compression test replace gaskets and have heads checked vehicle problem should be repaired
You will find the heater hoses on the rear of the motor. This is on the drivers side just under the air cleaner tube that goes into the motor. They go from there into the firewall.Part of them are metal pipe and part rubber where they go into the vehicle. If your having problems with the vehicle not heating.Make sure the cooling system is not low.The other thing is this 3.4 engines are known for head gasket.Usually the rear head on the passengers side rear corner. You have to look from under the vehicle.Hope this has helped.Good luck.
Check the coolant reservoir and the radiator for proper coolant level. If low you probably have a leaking intake gasket or possibly a head gasket leak. The intake leak will be visible on either end of the intake manifold, located at the very top portion of the engine. The head gasket usually shows up at the rear head, nearest the belt. You could have a water pump leaking and this would show coolant on the ground under the right front of the engine, more so when the engine is running. They are very common for all 3 problems.
waterpump? No movement of water/coolant, engine overheats. Engine overheats, warp heads. Next time you rip a head off, check gasket to see if head gasket failed or if there is a different cause to car overheating.
you have a bad head gasket or a cracked head better off to replace engine with a lower mileage motor its better to do and maybe cheaper.the reason i say this is because when you rebuild the top end the lower end becomes the next victim when put up against a newly rebuilt top end.
If you are planning on fixing the problem yourself, you will want to buy the haynes manual for your vehicle.
Even if you are not a mechanic, it is worth buying the manual for your vehicle. It has a lot of reference material and sometimes it will help your mechanic to fix your vehicle faster.
As long as the heads are not damaged from overheating repairing would be an option rather than replacing the engine. Get advise from a mechanic you trust. The intake manifold gaskets are the most common problem with this vehicle if you have the V6 engine.
