Question about 2004 Chevrolet Aveo

3 Answers

My 2004 Chevrolet Aveo Hatch was not running and the battery was disconnected to fix the problem and now my radio won't play. I've experienced this problem before and the dealership fixed it for free and now they want to charge me $45. Thanks for your time and help with this situation :)

My vehicle is a 2004 Chevy Aveo LS hatchback. My radio did same thing end of last year. Try these codes below and instructions. Mine was 2152.

1156, 1165, 1325, 2145, 2151, 2152,
2253, 2346, 2453, 2654, 3116, 3221,
3241, 3251, 3265, 3346, 3451, 3462,
4136, 4314, 4316, 4362, 4513, 4524,
4853, 5241, 5253, 5312, 5436, 5445,
5624, 5813, 6361, 6451, 6645, 8253

1. Turn the ignition to ACC or On Mode.
2. Turn the radio on look at disolay to see if AF or COdE appears on screen. If AF (go to step 3) and if COdE (go to step 4)
3.Enter AF Code (Usually Zipcode from dealership purchased from)by pushing the preset pushbuttons. COdE will then flash on the display.
4.Enter one of the codes from above if it flashes 3 times then it's the correct code if Err appears then with in a few sec's then it is incorrect move to next code.

****** Please Note ******

If incorrect AF code (Dealer Zipcode unless in Asia if in Asia push 5 and follow directions on screen) is entered an incorrect frequency level may be chosen and the radio reception may be affected if this occurs reset the audio system by removing and reinstalling the audio fuse then repeat steps 1 through 4. Hopefully this will work. Good Luck.

Check your Manual for a radio reset/unlock code. The radio has an anti-theft lock and locks when battery voltage is removed. If you have replaced the radio, you should get a new code. This happened to me when I disconnected the battery to work on my Aveo. The dealer wanted $65 or $35 if I removed the radio. They will get a serial number off the back of the radio and get the manufacturer to send them the unlock code.

Radio won't work

When you disconnect your battery or remove the fuse and then reconnect itagain, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your carradio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. Ifyou do not have this code you need to go to your vehicle manufacrurers service centre andget them to enter this code for you.

Radio will not play after changing the battery?

If you disconnect battery - all radio presets are reseted to factory defaults.
So you should adjust radio presets.

I need a radio code for a 2004 aveo i bought a 2004 aveo and i changed the battery and now i need the radio code the serial is ( KL1TJ52624B158866 ) and the radio ( 31127152 04 ) thx

what you can do is call a gm dealer and give them the vin number and they should be able to help you with that. all radio's are different. unless you have the owners manual, you get a card with the car that has your code on it. thats about all you can do.

Hold light blinking, check engine light on, engine slows down

check tps sensor (throttle position sensor in backside of the throttle cable) and map sensor (manifold absolute pressure on front little 1 inch sensor with vacuum line) make sure there plugged in. the ecm (engine control module driver side inner fender) and tcm (transmission control module under dash) both need the data to know when to upshift and increase fuel/air. Otherwise the computer runs default values and guesses off of other sensors giving poor performance. also disconnect battery for 15 min. usually resets aveo service lights if you dont have a scanner.
