SOURCE: Cruise control not working, when turning ignition

sounds to me as if you need a new ignition switch there is a metal rod that allows the locking of the shifter and as far as cruise is concerned the lever itself goes bad often but check to ensure the vacuum line going from thet intake to the round ball is in tact and not rotted out or disconnected but the shifter is locked from the ignition switch itself if you remove the plastic housing that surrounds it you should see the rod that runs down the steering column and look for the obvious anything thats come disconnected etc .

When engauged it wont lock in front wheels with the front jacked up it acts like a clutch is slipping in the tranfercase

It probably is the clutch used by the Auto-4WD mode. Excessive use of auto 4WD will burn up the clutch.

Will it work in 4HI?

The Service 4wd light used to go on and off

Drive in circles, one direction then the other and it should come out...Gears get preloaded and will remain so until this load is released...

The engauge/disengauge control does not have power to overcome gear preload.

Wat makes the 4wd not come out

Usually caused by preload of the relationship between the front and rear drive train units...Engauge and disengauge require circle driving, thinking in terms of having 1/2 move in relation to the other 1/2. Nothing would change while driving straight....

It not going in to 4x4 when button is push light not coming on

Typically, there are gears that need to align after 4 wheel engauge request. These gears relate to the front and rear wheels.... These two systems need to be moved in relation to one another. THIS means drive the car, (not in a staight line, as nothing changes) in a circle or turn to the right and/or left.

The same issue is present on disengauge. Commonly there is some preload and the system will not disengauge. Employ the same strategy.

The 4wd light stays on. I have tried pushing the level up and down without success. I also having a problem starting the car (manual gear). I also have a problem while starting the jeep. It is not...

Light will not go out until the gears actually disengauge. Typically there is SOME preload on the gears and that keeps them engauged and light indicates so, correctly. To disengauge, move lever to disengauge and drive in left and right circles. This allows the front drive and rear drive to alter their relation in the transfer case, eventually allowing for release.
