Yes it may be the wires are shorting or its actually the problem with instrument cluster.

It depends upon why they are lit. Are you having issue with the speedometer as well? If so, replace the speed sensor in the rear differential. Otherwise, see a mechanic to determine why the lighs are lit.

I HAVE RUN ACROSS SOME WEIRD STUFF ON THESE VEHICLES EX. TACH, SPEEDO, RADIO ,LIGHTS AND SO ON ,,WATER /MOISTURE WAS FOUND IN THE TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH ( NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH )CONNECTOR ,,,THAT WAS CAUSING SOME MAJOR TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES ,I REPLACED THE SWITCH AND CONNECTOR AND THAT SOLVED IT , , I DON'T KNOW WHAT ALL THE SYMPTOMS ARE FOR THAT PROBLEM BUT I WOULD DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT ,,,

there is a speed sensor in the rear differential that controls these things, replace that and your problem is solved!!
i believe it is still only available at the dealer, it's about $50 or $60!!
it's real common problem on the dakota's and durango's!!

Go to a local parts store and have them load test your altenator and battery. If they check out ok, check out your battery cables esp the ground.

This will fix the ABS and Brake lights, will fix the speedometer isue and smooth out the erratic shifting.

Did you use a mopar sensor.I have fixed this problem many times and not had much luck with the aftermarket sensors.Just a thought.Good Luck!!!
