This car does not have gear oil but to check your transmission fluid leave the car in park on a flat surface while it is running pull out the transmission dipstick wipe it off then put it back in then pull it out to check the correct level :)

How do i check the manual transmission oil on my 2000 Plymouth neon and what kind does it take

You will have to go under the car and remove the plug, with the car in a level position, the gear oil should be within 3/16 of the transaxle fill hole. Important the plug will be on the side not the very bottom. Loosening the bottom one drains it. You will not go through gear oil, like you would with an automatic. This is done every 50,000 miles or so.

How do you align the torque converter to the motor of a 2000 plymouth neon 2.0L with transmission still in the vehicle without it binding?

The trick is to place the torque converter onto the gear box first and slide it back to the gear box. position the gear box against the engine housing and do up the bolts. Then through the inspection cover opening pull the converter up to the flex plate align the bolt holes ,insert the bolts and tension up

Grinds when going into second gear if your at a high rpm.

Check that you are using the correct grade of oil in the gear box. IF you have it is possible that the synchro ring for 2nd gear is failing and not energising the 2nd gear hub. That means box out for a rebuild

Steering of my plymouth neon 1995 suddenly got very stiff as if it is no longer hydraulic. I checked the steering oil ,it was at low and subsequently topped it but found very little difference. What could...

you need to bleed the air out which is very easy to do. turn the steering wheel all the way to the left... hard left so it's making a noise... do that for abit. then turn the wheel to center... shut of the car and check the level of the fluid. top up if necessary. now start the car and repeat the same thing to the right. after you have done this check the level again.

should be fine

A/c evaporator replacement plymouth neon 1995

Remove glove box. If you can't get full access to the evap unit, then you guessed it, you'll have to remove the dash to do it. Plan on replacing the receiver drier, flushing the a/c system and paying to have someone vacuum the system out and recharge it with R-134a. Hope that helps.

P.S. Should you need to remove the dash on your car, plan on 1-2 days of work for an amateur.
