code p 1778 refers to CVT step motor--mechanical malfunction===causes ---step motor
the CVT is a constant velocity transmission that has no gear ratios as such but uses a special belt between two pulleys that change flange widths in unison so that as the road speed increases one pulley gets smaller and the other larger
the step motor controls the pulley adjustment
Take it to a service dealer or an accredited specialist transmission shop with experience on that transmission
nissan cvt's are well known for stepper motor failure.Plug the ECU onto a diagnosis machine to be sure but if the jerking is accompanied by failure to smoothly change up and down gears it is the stepper motor. If everythng else is ok check fuel pump
ouch. since it's a Prairie and not a Murano i'm not sure but the Murano in US has a warranty to 120k miles on the CVT. Check your dealer if they offer that where you are
it more than likely is a bad solinoid my Chevy impala did the same and i also worked at a Nissan dealer and the odd Nissan came in with the same prob but if you have a murano than you might be looking at a new CVT transmission $$$
