This is a compound problem. Your information sensor is stuck in french mode, and your tire pressure indicator is giving you the warning. If you cannot remedy the issues yourself, I'm sure the dealer would be happy to help you out for next to nothing.

New battery In mercedes no power

I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.

1991 poniac firebird will not start and the secerrity light keeps flashing

The most likely cause of the problem is that your security module is not reading your key correctly. This is usually due to a defective key tumbler assembly. Try this to get it started:

1. Connect a battery charger or connect to another vehicle with jumper cables to keep the battery from running completely dead. If you set your parking brake before turning the key on, this will also help because it will keep your daytime running lamps from coming on.

2. Turn the key to the RUN position and wait about 10 minutes until the security light stops flashing.

3. Without turning the key off, turn the key to the START position and see if the engine will start.

If this does not work to get it started, you will have to tow it.
In either case, (whether you get it started or not, the key tumbler assembly probably needs to get replaced.

I recently replace the battery in my 2005 Ford Mustang GT. After I installed the new battery the green light for my dealer installed alarm keeps flashing even when I am driving the car. I went to the...

                Hi
                Before Battery Change

                • When was/or when did you notice alarm green light illuminated?

                • When after alarm was disarmed, did green light shine?

First thing to check would be electrical connections starting from the battery.
                1. Follow positive wire lead from battery to fuse box connections. (Should be along driver side frame rail, or near battery.)
                2. Follow wrie harness to Relay Center. (Find Alarm Relay/Fuse)
                3. Also to Power Distribution Center. (upper driver corner engine bay)
Relay Switch and Fuse to Alarm should be okay, given the alarm green light illumination.

The Cars Brain, ECM Engine Control Module, manages messeges between power BattV and Alarm, also other modules and various sensors throughout the vehicle.

When Battery Supply was disconnected, something happened, that stunned the memory in the ECM.

Yes, the alarm does need resetting, its actually the memory messages saved in ECM need to be Refreshed.

(saying "alarm needs resetting") sounds like alarm is broken, when that is not the case. Similar scenario is, when smart phone screen webpage freezes(alarm memory info in ECU). No buttons work, not even power button (Key Fob control). Only way to gain access is to remove battery.

Lets try an experiment, this will be to loose still/saved frozen information, stuck in computer memory.

                How to Reset Vehicle Computer.

                1. Remove Neggative Post connection.
                2. Remove Positive Post connection.
                3. Let vehicle sit over Two Minutes, this time allows capacitors in vehicle Modules (ECM/PCM, TCM), to release any/all stored voltage, also any voltage in Vehicles ground circuit will be released.
                  • (I would typically wait 15 minutes) Capacitors with out constant Voltage input, will disipate rather quickly, depending on capacity size.
                4. With Battery Still Disconnected. Open Driver Car door, and turn Ignition to RUN Position.
                5. Reconnect Positive Post.
                6. Reconnect Negative Post.
                  • IGNITION is in RUN Position, when reconnecting Battery. Driver Door Is Open.

                  7. Turn Ignition to Off.
                  • Notice if alarm green light is illuminated.

                  8. Hit LOCK Button On Driver Door Switch to Reinitialize Alarm.
                  • Be SURE Key Fob not locked in car.

What causes the maintance required light to come on

Many issues can cause this alert from a loose gas cap to poor air intake due to dirty filter , poor running conditions. It needs to be hooked up to computer to determine problem.
Sometime by removing the red battery terminal and replacing it after a couple minutes you are resetting the computer and you can get another alert that tells you exactly what the problem was prior to the required alert coming on which over rides all others.

How do you turn off the oil change light after the oil has been changed?

GM Oil Life System This system calculates the estimated percentage of the engine oils remaining useful life and alerts you through the DIC when its time to change the oil by displaying CHANGE OIL. Please remember to always reset the oil life system after an oil change.
Reset the oil life system Press and hold the control stem for more than two seconds while OIL LIFE is displayed. When completed, the system will reset and a beep will sound.
Good Luck and Remember.

Nice, but doesn't work for my 2006 Silverado. My manual says:
1. Turn ignition key to RUN with engine off.
2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.

If the OIL LIFE RESET message flashes for 10 seconds, the system is resetting.

3. Turn the key to LOCK.

Time for Regular Maintenance Alert

Try this procedure. It works on some models.

1: Turn key to position #1
2: Push, and "HOLD" the Trip Reset button.
3: After 2 seconds, keep holding the trip reset while turning the ignition switch to position #2.
4: Keep holding the trip reset button in for about 15 seconds, the amber triangle in the dash should start flashing. Release the trip reset button when it does. Turn ignition off, on, then back off.

If that doesn't do it, you may have to see a dealer. Good luck.

Flashing light shows a car and a keyh inside

Thank You Very Much for The Maintenance Required Light Info, as far as the flashing car w the key inside. I'm not sure what key we have? When we bought it it only came with one key so we tried to make a duplicate, which ended up not working because we later found out it needs a chip (or probably what I hear as the smart key?) If the light is supposed to be on (and normal) why does it need reset?

The Maint Reqd light blinks after 4,500 miles, and stays ON continuously after 5,000 miles. This is to remind you that you need an oil change. Give the info from you about your key, you do not have a smart key. You have a transponder key. Off topic, but, FYI, a Toyota dealer can program a transponder key for you.
Back to the Maint Reqd light. Here is how you reset it:
Turn the key on.
Make sure that the odometer reads "ODO", and displays the total mileage traveled...If it displays trip a or trip b, push the black button by the odometer to make the display read ODO.
Turn the key off.
Press and HOLD the black trip reset button until advised to release it.
Turn the key ON. (keep holding th reset button down)
Observe the odometer display.
you will see 5 dashes, 4 dashes, 3 dashes, 2 dashes, 11 dash, followed by five zeros, and the total mileage you started with will re-display.
Release the button.
Turn the key off.

Regarding the flashing light with the car & the key: This is the indicator to show potential theives thatyou vehicle has a sophosticated security system, and it CAN NOT be started by "hot-wiring" it. The flashing light is normal, and consumes no battery power. I hope that this helps you understand these two items better. Thanks for choosing FixYA, and the graciousness of a FixYa rating for my solution to you would be greatly appreciated. Glad to be of assistance; please feel free to call upon me anytime. Have a great day.
