Weell it sounds like you have the days old problem Pepole dont know how to look after there cars.
The muck you still have in the engine isent doing it any good and so you have to get rid of it all, as its in the engine block and is got to go ,,so drain a little of water out and put in 1/2 a cup of washing up liquid in the radiator and start the engine and let it get hot and take the reves up to 1000 rpm now and then to keep the water going around the system, after about 1/4 hr turn off,,stand for 10 minutes ,,and then remove the cap slowly and then take off the Bottom hose and let all water out also take off Top hose at the engine end and put the house water hose in the top and turn it on till all water comes out clean. Then put hose up into the bottom hose and do the same again ,and the same in top again. Now with a clean engine you can do the same to the new Radiator and wash out all gunk .then check the thermostat and make sure its 100% (any doubt through it out) and take note how it comes out so you can fit a new one the same way,
Now refit both hoses and fill with coolant or antifreeze and TURN on the heater to hot before starting as you also have to get out the air from heater when it was drained and you will trap the air which might cause you code problems..
But now try service light reset
1,,Turn Ignition to Number 1position.
2,,Press and hold "day counter"reset button and turn
ignition to II(second) position, hold down for about 12 seconds.
3,,Afterservice light flashes, release button, there should be 2 beeps confirming reset was successful.
Let me know how you get on .. Ron

SOURCE: 2001 Volvo S80 2.9L air conditioner stops cooling

This could be one of many problems so it's probably best checked by someone with the correct tools and knowledge.

That being said,

With your engine cold, open your hood and start your car. Check to see if your cooling fan is engaged, take note of its speed if it is. Then turn on your AC and listen for the compressor clutch to engage. once you hear it, check to see that your cooling fan is blowing, if it wasn't before. The fan should be on and in high speed whenever your AC is on, whether the engine is hot or not. If it is not, then the reason for losing cold air is that, due to the lack of being properly cooled, your freon pressure is getting too high and is causing the compressor to turn off.

If the fan is blowing as it should be, you may have a faulty compressor or the clutch on it may need to be shimmed.

Another culprit could be that your system is low on freon or the switch that senses the pressure is faulty.

And yet another culprit could be a faulty relay that is overheating and shorting out.

Sorry I couldn't give you a difinitive answer as to what the problem is, but without diagnosing it myself, this is the best I give you.

Good luck!!

I HAVE ASKED 2 VOLVO DEALERS WHAT IS THE EKA CODE FOR MY 2005 VOLVO XC90 AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM ASKING FOR THEY NEVER HEARD THE TERM.

The EKA code IS NOT the code in the key fob. The grey plastic tag on the keys IS NOT the EKA code, it is the ignition key code.

What causes this Volvo S80 T6 "Engine System Service Required"

This message could have been brought up for any number of reasons and the fact that they are fully computerised makes them very complicated (eg. Sensor failure elecronic failure, misfiring mechanical failure) without the right tools, you will need a volvo vida code reader (check ebay). Otherwise you will have to go to a volvo repairer to get the car scanned for error codes. Note; a independent volvo workshop is generally cheaper for the same thing.

I have a 2001 volvo s80! The engine system service light is on. what could be the problem?

There are many codes that could trigger the Service Engine light. Have Autozone, etc. pull the code. Without it you won't find out much without manual diagnosis.
