Bank 1 on a Chevy is the drivers side.
The can sensor is usually located on the front of the engine/camshaft. I have seen a few located at the back of the engine/camshaft but very few. You will need to get a new sensor to replace the defective one throwing the code. Before you buy anything unhook the positive battery cable for 10 seconds or so. That will reset your computer and should shut your check engine light off too. If it comes back on with the same code the sensor surely needs replaced.
I have seen times when it is a one time fluke. If it doesn't come back on don't worry about it.
