Where is the fuel regulator located? And how can I tell if it's bad

2003 Honda CR-V Can someone tell me where the fuel pressure regulator is on my Honda? And how to test it? And do you know where I can see diagram & videos how to change it? Thank you!

Fuel pressure regulators are usually located near the fuel rail on the top of engine or intake manifold. You have to use a fuel pressure gauge attached top fuel rail and with engine running to take a reading from the gauge and if vehicle will not run, have someone spin the engine whilst you read the gauge. The pressure should be some where between 45-54 to be good and if it's lower than that, the regulator may be bad but then again the fuel pump may be faulty if vehicle has high miles and never been replaced. The regulator can be tested with a hand vacuum pump and gauge to check for leakage. If it loses vacuum, I would replace the regulator and go from there if any other repairs are needed. Most fuel pressure regulators are attached to the fuel rail which is generally attached to the intake manifold. To see a picture of the fuel rail and the fuel pressure regulator attached to the top view the link. Yours may be in a slightly different location on the rail. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_rail

should be on the fuel rail, take the plastic engine cover off and you should see the injector rails on either side of the supercharger, got to be real close to the line towards the firewall

Fuel tank pressure sensor

there is an autoshutoff relay that works both ignition and the fuel pump..if the key is turned to the run position, you should hear the tank pump come on for 2-3 seconds.. if not replace the relay..up front under the hood..parts store can tell the location of the relay..

The fuel pressure regulator. its on the end of the fuel rail. pull the vacuum hose off the regulator and look inside. If the inside of the hose is wet with fuel, the regulator is bad.

Good chance that the fuel pressure regulator has gone bad and is leaking fuel. The fuel pressure regulator is located on the fuel rail by the PVC valve in front to the engine. Here is a link to where the location is toy our fuel regulator.

2000 Silverado 1500: location of fuel presure regulator...

The regulator is on the fuel rail on the driver side of the motor. Look for a vacuum line that plugs into the top of the regulator. If you suspect yours is bad, with the engine shut off pull the vacuum line off. If gas runs out then the regulator is bad.

Where is the location of the fuel regulator valve

If you mean your fuel pressure regulator. It's located on the CSEFI injector assembly, the regulator is located under the air intake plenum on the back of the fuel meter body.
If the regulator is bad it may cause either a drop in fuel pressure or an increase in fuel pressure at the rail . A drop in fuel pressure, if severe enough, can cause bad or no idle condition, engine starving for fuel and etc.

If the regulator is causing excessive pressure it can cause fouled plugs, black smoke from exhaust and rough engine performance.
Before you change the regulator check for cracked, rotted or disconnected vacuum hose.

Also you can connect a fuel pressure gauge to the schrader valve on the rail and monitor the pressure to see if it is in specifications, or to see if the fuel pressure drops rapidly after engine shutdown.

Where is the fuel regulator located on a 1988 tbi

Sits inside the throttle body, you would have to open to install regulator. Also check your fuel filter make sure it's not clog, fuel filter is under truck on fram rail, while your there do a fuel pressure test, with a fuel pressure tester, should have 13psi.

Some fuel regulators are located in the tank as part of the fuel pump assembly. If the fuel pressure regulator has gone bad, it can leak fuel in the engine, contaminating the engine oil.

Symptoms of a bad regulator is:
Poor gas mileage.
Smell of gas in the engine compartment.
Fuel is leaking.
Black smoke coming out of the exhaust (tail pipe).
Failed emissions test.
Check engine light is on.

Usually take it to a garage to have this type of test done,,,but be warned,,,if you have a lot of gasoline mixed in with your oil,,you can burn out engine components real fast here.
