Ac only comes out of defrost and floor vent, not dash

The ducts have dampers that work off of a vacuum and control the flow of air to the different air vents at the top, bottom and face of the dash. Sometimes the vacuum lines come loose or break. You'll need to look under the dash to see if any of these conditions exist.

Dash vent air flow

Could be a problem with the control on the dash or a blend door under the dash.

No air coming through vents

There are 3 likely possibilities:

  1. Bad heater motor - a dead heater motor means no air flow
  2. Disconnected or hole in air flow hose - sometimes a vent hose will dislodge just enough to disrupt air flow. Check underneath the inside of the passenger compartment for any loose hose connections. You can also turn the heat (or vent) on HI and check the air flow hose for any pinholes that also could disrupt your air flow
  3. Bad Control Center - if the Control Center is bad, it won't trigger the heater motor to turn on and push air

I bought my 2008 cayene s used, and it did not come with an owners manual. whenever I turn on the air conditioner, it causes condensation on the bottom center of my windshield. I cannot figure out how to...

you have a problem with the control vents ,the operating mechanism has a fault like the diaphramn inside is split and its not closing properly ,i have same problem with my jag and iam not pulling the dash out to get to it though ,i just lay a piece of carpet over top of vents with some football club or is it a rugby club ?? anyway it stops the air flow onto the screen and stops the ICE on mine

I have a problem with a air leak in the cab. The dash vents do not allow heat to flow. Heat does come in the bottom seting. This truck has no air only heat and there is a draft when I turn off the blower.

s4s-ect that the heater hose under the dash (may be difficult to get at) has come loose from the dash vent. It may have come loose from the heater cowling - but unlikely since you do get heat the mos"in the bottom setting" It could also be a problem with the butterfly deflector which directs the path of the air flow from the heater core - not the most likely cause.
