out of fueL, bad fuel , old fuel>?

replace what exactly , ignition parts t are many.
key switch.?
Igniton coil(or coils, or cops or coil packs)
Distributor.
spark wire, (not replaced 1 by 1 = fail..)
ok , the PCM monitors spark and that fails, (even if spark is good)
it will cut fuel. so what did you touch>?

i use a noid light, if pass I check fuel pressure
if noid fails, i find out why PCM is cutting fuel.
check fuses 1st. always. for ever. and ever

87 oldsmobile toronado not getting any spark


ECM requires both crank sensor signal and cam sensor signal to fire the coils. Check for spark at the plugs first. Check the plug wires, then the coils. Only if you have no spark at any coil would I suspect the ignition module, and even then only if you have a good crank and cam signal. Do you have any codes stored in the ECM? They could help pinpoint the problem.

1992 gmc vandora is not getting spatk i changed the spark module under cap distributer pick up the coil and the ignition switch on steering column any suggestions


Did you change the Spark Plugs too? The coil is new you said. Might want to thing about replacing all the Spark Leads to new ones, they may be dead, just replace them all, even the main one.

2002 GMC Yukon XL Denali 6.0 Vtec Was have brake problems and ABS light on so replaced Huds and all rotors and pads then i was on the freeway when the serves Engine soon light came on so I got to my exit...


P0300 indicates a random or multiple cylinder misfire. With the engine running rough unplug one coil at a time while listening for an RPM change or for the engine to run even worse. If there is no change from one or more coils than check those coils for spark. If there is no spark out one of the coils swap it with another coil. if there is still no spark replace the coil.

Car had the maf sensor replaced but is still hesitating on takeoff after car has set, even for short stops like to the grocery store. I'm thinking fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and/or injectors....


You have a misfire whether it is from the coil or spark plug boot a full tune up with plug and wires and maybe even ignition coil (coils due short out)cansmo_69.gifcansmo_70.gif

I have a 1988 ford 250. it just up and died and is getting no spark what so ever. I replaced the ignition module, pick up coil, coil itself, coil wire and still no spark. There must be a relay or something...


A very common problem with newer vehicles is the crankshaft sensor. If it goes bad it will not the engine to produce spark. Even dealerships miss this alot, don't know why, but alot of times these magnetic sensors go bad all of a sudden, and no one ever thinks about that sensor. I have replaced many of these on different cars for the same reason. I hope this helps dude.

On a 1992 chevy 1500- 350 engine, I can not get this thing to get a spark- i have replaced the plugs and wire, distributor cap and rotor, but you still don't even get a spark, it's getting fuel... Please...


Hi, Hope I can help you.
I do not know how you have checked for spark, but lets start from the beginning.
Lets start with an ignition systems check.
1. I want you to remove the high voltage coil wire. ( That's the wire in the center of the distributor cap.) Using a good pair of insulated pliers. I want you to hold it about 1/4 inch from a good engine ground. Now you will need a bit of help from a partner. Get them to turn the key and crank the engine. You should see a bright blue and well defined spark. Ok, If you have spark I want you to slowly move the coil wire away from the engine ground. As you do this I want you to pay attention to the coil tower. (The coil tower is where the other end of the coil wire is attached.) What your looking for is arcing and sparking at the coil tower. If this happens then you need to replace the coil with a new one. If this does not happen then your coil is working fine, and we will have to move on.
Note if you do not get spark from the coil wire replace the coil.

2. Ok if you have spark now we have find out if the spark is making it to the spark plugs. How are we going to do this? By checking the rotor, distributor cap, spark plug wires and spark plugs.First lets remove the distributor cap. This will allow use to inspected the rotor and the distributor cap. What your looking for is, cracks, carbon tracks and wear at the tip of the rotor. On the distributor ,look inside the cap for cracks, carbon tracks and wear on the terminals. If you find any of this replace the distributor cap and rotor. ( Note if you have any doubt of the condition of the rotor or the cap replace them.) Next lets check your spark plug wires. Lets pull off one of the spark plug wires from the spark plug side. Now inspect the wire connection for a white crusty powder. If you find crust replace your wires. Now you should check all of them the same way, but if even one has corrosion replace them all. You are going to have to inspect the wire its self . Going down the whole length of the wire. Holes cracks burn Marks and other damage. Once again if you find any damage replace them all.

While checking for "spark" = "fire" make sure you do it properly. These shocks hurt and could result in injury or even death.
1. Pull and check the Spark Plug for Cylinder #3. There are spark plug tester's at autoparts stores that you can buy and some are for rent. They are easy to use. If still no Spark PROCEED to Steps #2 and #3 below before replacing the Spark Plug. If the Spark Plus is dirty, fouled, or incorrectly gapped: clean, and regap the plug and recheck.
2. Check for "fire" at the spark plug end of the wire for Cylinder #3. Is there consistent sparking? If not then PROCEED to Step #3 below before replace the wires.
3. Check for "fire" at the Coil="Distributor" for Cylinder #3. Is there consistent sparking from the Coil? If not the Coil could be Bad.
If there is Consistent Spark from the Coil but no Spark from the Wire = Replace the Wire.
If there is Consistent Spark from the Coil and Wire = Replace the Plug.

How do i replace the spark plugs in a jaguar 2000?


THE SPARK PLUS ARE LOCATED UNDER THE VALVE COVERS, ON TOP OF THE VALVE COVERS THERE IS A SMALL PLATE COVER WITH 8 LITTLE BOLTS THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED WHICH WILL THEN SHOW YOUR COILS, UNPLUG COILS PULL COIL OUT AND SPARK PLUG WILL BE LOCATED UNDER THE COILS.
The left side is easy, just pop off the left side engine cover...remove the coils and the plugs are right there. The right side is a whole other matter completely, you need to remove the intake manifold to be to access them. It is a relatively simple job if you are even slightly mechanically inclined. Ensure you replace the upper intake manifold gaskets when you remove the intake manifold.
