2004 Bravada Turn on my AC and there is a ticking noise coming from the engine. Turn it off the noise is gone. Also, when the AC is on seems like I have to push down harder on the gas to get it to go. Turn AC off and it works fine. Any ideas what this could be?

Exhaust leaks, like a manifold or loose plug will sound like a tick inside the car,if it is louder when it is cold, suspect something more serious ,like a piston. if the tick only happens when u turn,it's an axle joint.
big end bearings( lower engine rod bearings to confuse) knock at idle and get louder with rpm
if the noise changes with rpm and you are hearing it near the ac compressor then it could be the ac pulley bearing
test if it is the compressor by listening and then turning the ac off the pulley will still spin but the compressor stops
if the noise remains , replace the pulley bearings
The clicking comes from worn engine parts that haven't gotten enough lubrication. For instance, the valves may be ticking when first started when engine is cold.
remove the AC relay to shut the AC off all the time. Not sure why it wont start but you may havea security lockout. Fully charge the battery to proceed.
I have a 2004 Chrysler 300M that makes the ticking noise when first started . . . if you turn the heater control to completely off the noise stops . . .leave it off for about 3 to 5 minutes and then turn it on and it will be gone. . . my chrysler dealer repair service manager can't understand it and didn't believe me when I told him. They tried to tell me it was my motor mounts. My 18 year old daughter figured it out. go figure!!!
