Check engine oil

Needs to be checked at the dipstick,
Under the bonnet on the engine!
The warning light, on most vehicles,
Only comes on when the oil is drastically low!!!!

Where is the bonnet closed sensor on the landrover discovery 3, my horn beeps when locking car and an error message says bonnet open. I'm away in Germany for a month which isn't much help.Any advice on...

After more thorough search in better light and removing grill etc. I found the bonnet sensor is underneath the RIGHT HAND bonnet latch (opposite side to battery for RH Drive models). there is a mini plug, with 2 contacts accessible from engine side without removing the grill, release plug latch to remove plug and short out the two pins of the plug then tape to secure. I can now lock the car without the horn blowing. As for replacing the actual switch, that will be another small job but when I return to the UK.

Bonnet cable come away fron front catch on bonnet

replace it.... buy a new cable assembly and install it (unless, of course, that's not exactly what's wrong with it). You say it keeps 'coming out'... tell you what, take a photo of 'where it's coming out' and perhaps we will be able to help you.

Temperature gauge doesn,t move. load noise from under bonnet sounds like fan but really load.

HI, due to the damage to the bonnet that protects the fan(fan shroud), this damage has caused a malfunction within the temperature guage sending unit(temp sensor).

Simply replacing the temp sensor will fix this could be a lose or ripped wire as well. make sure the temperature sensors wires are connected and not torn.

Car alarm goes off for no reason.

Common fault is the bonnet sensor, when this happens to me I open the bonnet press the sensor plunger a few times, it fixes it for a while. Get this checked or replaced .
