Question about 1997 Lexus LS 400

Controls say air is on full blast but no air is coming out.

From the control panel it appears that it should be blasting out cold air but there is absolutly nothing coming out of the vents at all. also tried hot air but still no luck.

bad hacks, your car is not stock
now you get to find someone that wants to touch a hacked up car.
good luck with that.
bad wiring, or bad hacked in parts.
a motivated tech can find it but will be costly.

2000 chevy silverado not blowing hot air


1: not enough liquid in the system (air in the heater core)
2: inoperative heater valve not allowing hot liquid into the core
3: hot/cold blend door in the heater box stuck on cold
4: clogged heater core
A clogged heater core will have one hot hose and one significantly cooler hose at the firewall connection; easily tested by hand. a good core will have both hoses very hot to the touch when the heater is on full blast.
Make sure that the system is full and at operating temperature, and the heater controls set on full heat. Feel the hoses at the firewall; if they are both too hot to touch then the problem is in the heater box or controls.

Fuel/temp gauges not working. blows hot/cold air full blast all the time. once in awhile digitals start flashing like a strobe.


i just got a 93 deville doing the same thing. I ordered a new body control module online for under $100 so I am hoping that is the problem. It is behind the glove box and control much of the dash information system.

Sounds like a "fan motor speed controller" or FMSC.
Either that module has gone out...or we're not getting the signal from the control panel sometimes called the EATC.

Lincoln has an EATC (for electronic air temp control)...GMC has something similar.
There is a way to run a diagnostic test of the EATC but am having trouble finding it for GM models.

If EATC test is done and fails...it will tell you it failed and would need replacing.
If EATC passes...it will tell you it passed and the fan motor speed controller would be at fault.

Usually, when a speed controller fails, the blower motor either doesn't turn OR it runs full blast.
Both parts EATC and the FMSC are expensive.
Since yours is running full blast...at least its providing air.
I'd try to run a diagnostic check to be for sure and maybe your parts might be less expensive and available at your local parts store.

Most likly this van has seperate controls for driver and passenger heat and ac controls.If its blowing hot air your heat is working.These controls operate differant dampers that are electonicly controlled.If the dials arent working they would cause this problem.

Air/heat blower is not working unless it is on high.


The heater resistor is probably faulty, its located near the blower fan

A/C is on and rear heater blows full blast from vent on the sliding doors


I had the same problem and the gear box that opens and closes the valve for the water flow through the heater core was stripped. I had it replaced because it is a bear to get to. Hope this helps.
