You still have a screw in it somewhere. Look all over the panel again. It is probably hidden behind the light in the door.

97 Mercury Mountaineer driver side door won't open. Outside handle flops around; inside handle won't open door

Try a slim jim first, down the side of the window. Or AAA or locksmith. If no luck, remove the seat first. Find the screws and bolts around the door handle and arm rest. Most Ford's have screws around the outer side of the panel. I don't believe your's does. The panel lifts or pops off. Once the panel is off, you can reach down and open the door. Just a note. I have done some to where the panel came out in pieces.

Arrrrgh! I cannot lift the interior door panel off at the top after removing the 2 screws under the arm rest and the one in the rear. I've disconnected the power window, seats and door lock...

sometimes you have to have the bottom pulled out about a foot, and have the window down half way, and then wigge from side to side while lifting over the lip along the top of the door at the window line.

I would like to dismantle the driver side door on my jeep grand cherokee to replace the window regulator. The manual does not go into enough specific detail to dismantle the door. Please help.

Welcome to the club! You now have a small taste of what it is like to be a professional automotive technician. Not only do most service manuals not give detailed instructions on how to do this, but almost every make and model of car out there comes apart differently....But we auto techs are supposed to just know all this stuff....

Anyway, The first thing you have to do is get the door panel off without destroying anything. This is the toughest part - I have seen many door panels that flop like a flag in the wind because they got busted-up by someone trying to get a window working.

This should work on your Jeep:
Remove the plug from the mirror flag bezel. Remove trim panel attaching screws. (There is usually 4 of them - check all around the perimeter and check for one near the door handle) Once you are sure you have all the screws removed, use a trim panel tool (Available at your local parts store) to pop the push-clips loose from around the perimeter of the door panel. BUY THE TOOL! It is not very expensive and It will save you from breaking your door panel to pieces so it won't stay on any more!
Once the clips are popped loose, Lift up on the door panel to release the hooks and pull the door panel out slightly. Disconnect all wiring connectors. Disconnect the latch rods from the inside handle actuator. Remove the door panel.
After the door panel is removed, remove the inner and outer belt weather strips.
Remove the door insulator. Remove the clips that attach the glass to the lift plate. Push the bottom of the glass outward and the regulator lift plate inward to disengage the studs. Push upward on the glass and lift the glass from the door. Remove the regulator-to-door bolts. Move the regulator so the electrical connector can be disconnected from the window motor. Remove the regulator through the access hole.

Reverse procedure to install.

How do I remove the passenger side interior rear door panel on a 2000 Yukon to access the window regulator?

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Pull back the weather seal and you'll be able to get to everything.

How do u remove the rear drivers side door panel on an 01 olds aurora?

1. Remove the two visible screws on the hinge side of the door panel 2. Remove the two (or three) visible screws on the latch side of the door panel. 3. Remove the screw in the plastic door pull recess. 4. Remove the door pull recess by extending the door pull (like you are opening the door), lifting the end of the recess that the screw was removed from and pulling the recess forward toward the door hinges. 5. Lift the plastic cap off the screw head in the 'cup' located at the rear of the power window control panel on the door and remove the screw. 6. Lift the power window control panel out of the door panel ( it puts up a fight) and disconect the two power plugs on the bottom of the assembly. 7. Using a stiff putty knife or a similar tool pry the bottom of the door panel from the door, it is secured by several plastic push in thingies. 8. Disconect the light bulb from the lower left hand corner of the door panel by twisting it a half turn and pulling straight out. 9. At this point the panel should be connected to the door at the top of the panel only. 10. There is probably a better technique but I lifted and pryed and twisted the door panel until the fasteners from Hell that connect the top of the panel to the door decided to release the panel (all the while making sure I was gentle enough not to damage the panel or the fasteners). 11. I didn't need to remove the mirror but I did notice a screw head leading to the mirror assembly that was exposed after the panel was removed. 12. While you have the panel removed you might want to lubricate as many mechanisms as you can while you have them exposed.

You can follow these instructions witch are for the front door as they are pretty much the same to undo let me know if you need further assistance ok

Drivers door panel removal

The book says 1. remove power accesory switch panel by using suitable flat blade tool at front. 2. Disconnet electrical connections.
3. pry door handle plug by using small flat bladed tool
4.remove door trim handle mounting screws
5. remove door trim panel from retainers.Start at rear bottom corner and pry outward.
6. remove door panel.
KD does make a tool that will properly pry the door panel away from reainers. KD 3705 You might get by with a screwdriver.
One other thing you may need to have the window down to get the panel to come off. You will have to lift up on it once it is loose from the fastners.
Hope this helps you out.

My driver's side window will now roll up how do I fix it?

most likely the window regulator has broken inside the door and will need to be replaced as well as the regulator handle. To remove them you will need a basic metric socket set, screwdrivers, and a rag or shop towel. start by moving the rag back and forth behind the window crank in order to remove the retaining clip. then once removed pull the crank from the splines of the window undo the screw in the door handle press forward on the handle to release it from the door then undo the lock rod clip and remove the handle. there should be two large phillips head screws below the arm rest remove these. gently slide a flat bladed screwdriver under the bottom edge of the door panel. prying up to remove the retaining clips used to fasten the panel to the door. if you break the clips you can get replacements at most auto parts stores in their help section. Next lift the door panel up while lifting the bottom edge away from the door to remove the door panel. once inside the door you will need to lift the window up to gain access to the two 10 mm bolts attaching the regulator to the glass. undo the regulator retaining bracket and retaining bolts from the door. remove the regulator an assistant can be helpful to hold the glass up while you remove the regulator. installation is the reverse of removal
