Question about 1997 Dodge Intrepid

1 Answer

I have a 97 Dodge Intrepid 3.5L and have repaired just about everything on it. My plugs and plug wires keep fouling out and have just been told that I need to AGAIN replace the oxygen sensors. Can you tell me 1)why they keep going out 2)where are they so I may replace them myself and 3)do I need to be aware of 'tricks' in doing the replacement myself?

Not sure I am following your story.
Code 351 is a problem with the primary OR secondary circuit for the coil.
Code 1391 is a problem with the ABS system.

If they're coated in oil or fuel, yes they can foul and prevent starting.

Dodge intrepid/97 caught fire replaced all the wires now the spark plugs are not firing

You left out alot of info. We need more to be able to help you. What caused the fire, etc. Did you already check your fuses ( both under the dash and under the hood)? Is your check engine light temporarily coming on when you turn the key on? Can you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key on?

Dodge Caravan 1996 enging question

Before I paid $1500 or swapped engines (nearly as expensive) I would check to be certain the plug heat range is correct, test or change the plug wires, test the ignition coil, check the compression and perhaps do an engine diagnostic.... etc. etc. Incidentally my '93 has a 3.3l.

I have a 96 dodge intrepid 3.5 and it has intermittent spark. tries to start but just won't

Change plugs and wires, also check coil. Take a plug out, reattach to wire, and place threads of plug on block, or other ground, then have someone start it, and see if you get a good strong spark, if so, everythings ok, if not, replace plugs wires or coil

Wiring for the 97 Intrepid radio

Do yourself a big favor & buy the adapter plug for the harness, that converts your Chrysler harness to easy install of aftermarket stereo. Any autoparts or audio store should have them.
