Yes it is possible to get a dud battery, but it is unusual. Chances are good that your charging system is at fault. Also depends if you just make very short trips, or use a lot of accessories while driving on these short trips....

Chrysler 300 2006 started and died 4 times and now won't do anything. Not even a click. Have battery power to everything else

Try boosting it. If it starts and keeps running with a boost, but dies soon after you remove the boost, the battery is bad.

I PUT A NEW STARTER AND SOILENOID AND A GROUND WIRE ON MY 95 F150 AND WHEN I TURN THE KEY ALL IT DOES IS CLICK

Joey, If your solenoid is "clicking" that means it is closing and applying battery power to the starter motor.Your battery or connections could be bad.Or in a very rare case. You may have got a defective starter. The solenoid is just a "switch".It handles the large current needed for the starter to work.Bad connections is the usual culprit.Check your battery with a volt meter on d.c. scale.Should read 13.6 volts when fully charged. Hope this helps

My battery is fully charged, the alternator is new. if i disconect the battery the truck will shut down....What do i need to check for???

First off, never disconnect battery when vehicle is running. It could stress out the alternator and blow the diodes. Now you need to put a volt meter on the battery while the vehicle is running to see if the alternator is putting out 14 volts. If its putting out 12 or less, you have likely blown the alternator. Remove alternator and have tested free at Orielys or napa. I dont trust autozone.

I have a 2003 dodge neon sxt 2.0 and i need to put a high output altenaor on it. is it possibale to have 2 altenators on the car? i need somthing around 200amps. for a large stereo

you would blow the computer and every sensor and light on the car. They sell an aftermarket altenator that is a higher amp. add another battery to the trunk and an offspring wire from the front battery to the rear to keep it charged

1991 ford aerostar will start with jump but not off new battery, new starter, solenoid, cables & Neutral SAfety switch. Could my new battery have a bad cell?

Was it charged before putting it in service? Check the battery voltage at the posts with a voltmeter while someone tries to start the engine. If the voltage falls quite a bit (from 12.6 volts), put it on a slow charger over-night. A good battery will read 12.6 volts at rest and 13.5 to 14.5 volts with the engine running (and a good alternator). Hope this gets you running.

Alternator problem

1.You need to install a Fully charged battery, before you install a new alternator. Otherwise it will burn the alternator up.

2.I read what you typed about installing a new battery. Was the new battery fully charged, and was it installed before the new alternator?
No?
See number 1 above.
