Hello Mickey,

The two biggies to choose from are:

- the STARTER being bad
- Battery circuit, poles, cables or poor charge.

Easily discerned by getting a JUMP from a qualified assistant.

By successfully adding another battery's capacity to the circuit
you immediately clear the starter (expensive)... leaving the batter charge (cheap) or replacement (not cheap)...

Or BASIC MAINTENANCE:
Simply cleaning the battery terminals
(clever... ergo OFTEN overlooked).

Hope this helps.

My 2000 honda accord ex wont start,

Is it a single loud click when you try to start it? Or multiple clicks or "buzz"? If it is a single click heard from the engine, your starter has likely failed. Test the battery first, and inspect the battery cables/connections for any looseness/corrosion.

check the main fuel relay. it should click when the PGM-FI light does. if you don't hear the click it is not suppling power to several systems that make the car start and run.

If you here a clicking noise when you turn key, starter motor could be duff.
If no clicking noise solenoid possibly not working. Check wiring and current to solenoid and starter motor first.

1996 honda accord LX wont start came home fine last night. Just morning wont start. everything comes on lights, horn blows.... only a clicking noise when trying to start. Notice that battery cable was...

Try smacking the starter with a blunt object ( hammer or something ) Smack it several times while cranking. It may free up. Listen for the click at the starter. Its prabably a bad starter. Common symptom your describing. If it does start replace the starter.

This sounds like a starter problem, does it click when you hit the key? are the battery cables ok, not corroded?

You might have to change the spark plugs or at least have them cleaned.
