1988 jeep cherokee horn relay location

relay, moved each year, hard to track that, lacking the correct book..
the fuse 14 is here.
http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Electrical/1984_thru_1988_Fuse_Identification.htm
note how he's begging too for same fact at bottom of page.
so fuse is first. if you have a fuse, next is what, (easy to harder is rules of elect on cars. (etc)
does the relay click has horn is pressed, (some jeeps this year have 2 horns)
if it dont click that is the hard path. because now you cant trace the sound of the click to find it.
id hot wire the horn next, see if it is even good.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pL0biY0Hhc

btw the relays on this car, are crazy, scattered. its and old
AMC and they did that then, unlike modern cars with
centralized relays in the PDC under hood.
the rumor is it s under the hood on the fender harness.
also, some cars have no relay,
consider that some have 1 horn and other 2,(submodels)
that funny car has 2 and must have a relay.
see schematics of one in Russia with 2 horns. and a relay.
so.... i guess you are in USA< you never said.
i see posts on other jeep forum with no discovery.
so it and on going issue with AMC 88s. (1/2 jeep and not )
id say you are behind the 8 ball. no?

here is that rusky page.
http://jeep.zerok.ru/index.php?page=92
says hear fuel pump harness location. see that?

on the same page under wiring, you see this.

so find a relay that only has 23 pins
and the only relay with gray-red wire.
and you tell us.
as you can see the horn ring grounds the relay coil
the relay gry goes hot and horn honks. (both)
fuse 14 is first. always,
If you have Airbags, do not play around them defeat them first.

cab , box, 11PM
26253649-vn1t3wfed55kwhsedecrv5pw-1-1.jpg after a 5min www search
the best book is here, on drawings....

http://files.jeep.org.ua/files/wiring_diagrams_819.pdf

try to keep in mind, all jeeps are wired different
by country
year,
engine size or transmission, 2wd or 4wd
and by sub class. (sport, Laredo. that funny name at end , means it has more options. etc and wiring varies by that too.)
best is to own the real book, from jeep called the FSM
factory service manual.
i sold my $100 book with the my 88.

What do the fuse relays under the hood of a 1998 oldsmobile 88 ls control

You have fuses and relays . The fuses are or should br labled inside each cover if still there as well as on the fuse block itself, If not I can look under the hood of mine and tell you. The relays from left to right thats passenger to driver and numbered including the empty spaces as mine hase three on the right and two on the left with three emty slots in between. Now Olds seems to have kept this araingement for some time also my '98 88 has ABS as part of TCS but no relays there and diferent climate controls over the years it is posible you have more or less than are presnt on mine the complete list is as follows
#1 - AC compressor control for the compressors clutch
#2 - Horn relay
#3 - AC blower fan motor on, at low speed on the '98
#4 - AC blower motor off or high speed depending on year, not present on my "98
#5 - ABS pump relay ,not present on my '98
#6 - ABS Main relay also labled as pump relay for some years, not present on '98
#7 - High speed cooling or radiator fan
#8 - Low speed cooling or radiator fan

check under the hood in the fuse/relay box for a blown fuse or relay. also there is another fuse panel under the dash next to the steering column. when u take the cover off the fuse/relay box under the hood look inside the lid and it will tell u which fuse/relay controls the cruise/horn/etc. hope this will help you!!!!

Horn does not sound, i need to know where the horn relay is and where the horn itself is located. The fuse is good and pressing the horn button you can hear the relay clicking, so I suspect the horn relay...

horn is under the hood. usually right against the grill or mounted on fender well. fuses for horn can be under the dash, or in fuse panel under the hood.

Where is the horn relay located on a 95 jeep grand cherokee?

On my 95 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, the horn relay is in a compartment under the glove box. Open the glove box and remove the three screws in the front on the bottom. Take the plastic cover out and you'll see a bank of relays. The horn relay is the one on the far left, closest to you.

Horn malfunction

Under the hood of your jeep on the passenger side there is the Power Distrubution Center (PDC). Remove the lid and thered will be fuses and relays in there. I could not locate the exact location of the horn reley, but if you start removing them one by one you can find the horn relay. You will know the right one when the horn stops.
