Yes this can be done in place,remove timing belt side engine mounting,lower rear engine mount and front mount and engine can be moved over to leave room to get the plate bolts out that is in front of the timing cover,its awkward but can be done.

i can walk u through doing a t belt. But if u are not sure if u are able to do it DO NOT DO IT cause if u are wrong if cause a lot of engine damage.

Go to autozone and buy a manual for this as it is a bit much to type all this out! Not being sarcastic of course but that would be the best solution.... Your library may have them....

Make sure all of the pulleys that the belt travels around turn freely. Often times its the drive belt tensioner that has seized, causing the belt to melt and brake.
