Where is speed sensor on 97 chev cavalier

The speed sensor is one of the 18 or so sensors that enable the transmission to operate smoothly. It detects the speed of the front wheels at the axle and relays this information to the transmission control module.

You will find the sensor assembly on the top of the front right axle. In other words, it's on the passenger side of the Cavalier.

Can I install a 4 speed automatic transmission in my 1991 chevy cavalier to get better fuel economy?

I assume your car has a standard shift right now. Automatic transmissions **** up more gas than a stick shift, so I would advise you to keep yor standard stick shift. Just don't go around burning tires and try to keep your motor RPM's as low as possible.

TYPE OF TRANSMISSION FLUID NEEDED FOR 97 CHEVY CAVALIER AND HOW MUCH

You can use Dexron II or Dexron III, but you can also use the improved Dexron VI which replaces both the afore mentioned fluids. Use Dexron VI as it is an improvment. Caution: Do not overfill. Check fluid level according to the instructions in your owner's manual and make sure the car is parked on a level surface or you will get a false reading.
