Why is my Front compartment latch not locking? I have 2015 spyder RTS I do not anything other than helmet and nothing stuck around the area at all. Thanks if anyone can help

My trunk is stuck shut, how can I get it open? I can hear the lock mechanism unlatching using both the key fob and the latch by the drivers seat, but nothing is happening.


The seal around the Trunk is probably a bit sticky. It happens in winter. When you release the mechanism pull up on the trunk. To stop it happening spray the seal with a silicone spray like Jigaloo or dust it with talc.

I have a 2001 ford f-150 xlt 4 door and both the drivers side front and rear doors are stuck. How do I get the latch to release?


Spray lubricant down lock plunger shafts and into latch areas if possible. Work locks on and off and try to loosen things up.

Glove compartment stuck


This happens sometimes when I put too much stuff in there, try to see if there is anything blocking it from opening. (with a flashlight)

2000 hyundai sonata passenger door lock stuck in locked position


If your talking about the teeth/latch that actually engage around the pin to hold the door closed and not the lock you puhs down to lock it. all you have to do is get a screwdriver or anything small and strong you can stick in it and pull the tooth back into the "open" position. You might have to pull the handle out like your opening the door normally while you do this.

BMW roof is stuck closed with only one latch hooked!


There is a compartment on the top center of the windshield. This contains a bolt that released the latches that lock the top to the windshield. It takes an allen wrench to unwind the roof latch and it takes an infinite amount of turns.

My son stuck a small piece of foam into the seat belt latch assembly and buckled himself in. Now seat belt will not unlatch. How do I disassemble the latch unit to get the piece out?


Boys! If my 12 year old can't break it, it must be indestructable! I can't see a safe way to remove the plastic casing without breaking it or damaging the integrity of the buckel. I suggest that you use a shim to push the foam furter down into the buckle housing away from the internal latch. I just tried this on my toyota and used a 0.50mm feeler gauge (auto store) and was able to work around the front, back and sides of the release button down into the housing. It was stiff enough that I believe that anything in its way could be dislodged. I didn't want to replicate the foam jam, but I believe that with this shim I could dislodge the area around the latch hole enough to push the button and release. Then you can use tweezers and the shim to remove the foam. Good luck!

I can't lock the rear hatch door on my yukon. There is no key lock and the remote button locks all the other doors but the rear hatch remains unlocked. Also the button on the inside of the vehicle does not...


The lock is stuck in the "locked" position.
When you close the hatch, it is jamming the latch hook into the wrong area.

Manually open the hatch. Unlock the hatch (even tho the hatch is already open). there are two bolts holding the metal "loop", the loop has moved. Adjust the metal loop and close the hatch / lock it, etc.

sounds as if an adjustment is needed and there should be a tension-er of some sort look at it or perhaps you could shim it depending on just how far you need to push it down to lock it try a bit of white lithium grease on the worm gear as its going up then back down should help considerably

Hood latch frozen in closed position


there should be a cable coming from the driver headlamp area and going acroos to the front center of the hood. where the latch is. spray penetrating oil on the latch at the front center of the hood.

Mitsubishi Galant 2000 Glove Box Lock


First off you will need your key to the lock and a 1/8" flat blade screw driver.  Notice that your lock only turns 1/4 rotation, after doing this procedure you will be able to turn the lock an extra 1/4 turn counter clock-wise (when viewed from the front of the latch).

Turn the lock so it is vertical (perpendicular to the latch itself (counter clock-wise)).  Turn the latch around so you can view the back and the lock is to your left.  Above the lock there is a slot that you can put your screw driver into (not the indention in the metal).  You need to insert your screw driver and listen very closely, you should hear your screw driver hitting the metal latch.  Once you push the latch down with your screw driver, turn the lock another 1/4 turn with your key from the front (counter clock-wise looking from the front).

Once the lock has been turn a full 1/2 turn, you should be able to push the lock out from the back of the latch.

To put the lock in the new latch, you have to have your key in the lock.  Put the lock in the latch with the one pesky keep latch facing the handle used to open the glove compartment.  Once the lock is in the new latch, turn clock-wise until you can't anymore (1/2 turn).
