If you are out of coolant, the level light is going to flash and the temp light is NOT going to rise until you are overheating and are likely to crack a head. Add coolant and watch for leaks before, during, and after running. Also look at the exhaust -Blue or White steam in the exhaust is indicative of a head gasket or head failure.

Which fuse is for temperature gauge on dashboard

  • The temperature gauge is not on a fuse of its own, it would work with all the instruments, ie fuel gauge, warning lights etc. If the temp gauge does not work and the fuel gauge does,, look for the problem elsewhere such as the sender unit on the engine. A quick check is to remove the wire from the sensor unit on the engine and short it out to ground. If the gauge picks up, replace the sensor unit.
  • Otherwise, check the wire itself for breaks, or bad connections.

1999 VW Cabrio dash light

Obviously it's temperature gauge light. Check for coolant level first. Then check for coolant leak. If coolant is leaking out of your car, the lower coolant levels in your engine will cause it to overheat. If you have your heater on and it starts blowing hot air instead of cool, your engine is low on coolant. This will cause to flash a warning light on your car's dashboard.

Why won't the oil and temperature gauge work on

you should switch the temperature sensor and oil pressure sensor you had on your first engine, because your new engine must come with the light indicator dashboard so the sensor of your new engine are not compatible with your gauges....lipak!...

No manual...what is the red light with what looks like wavy lines?

Hi, this red light you are going on avout usually has three wavy lines running through it now this warning light is either telling you that the water level is low or the car is over heating if you have a seperate temperature gauge then if this is fine then check your water level.
If this is also fine then the chances are the water level switch has gone.
This is not a problem and can be fixed if you really wanted to for next to nothing.
Let me nkow if you ned further assistance

Can't find the sensor to see if it has corrosion on it or not

They are both located on the right side of the cylinder head ( right side as if you are looking at the motor) mounted just under the valve cover line. They are small 2 wire pinch type connectors and are simple to replace. The one closest to the water inlet is the sensor that controls your gauge on the dashboard. the 2nd sensor just behind that controls the computer and your engine fans.

Take a look to be sure okay.

Dashboard warning light as a circle with wavy lines through it

This is probably the coolant level sensor indicator for the antifreeze reservoir.
