Can i fit a extra water trap filter to hyundi terrican 2004 2.9 diesel

you can fit or have fitted any number of water traps to the vehicle
what you have to ask yourself is why am I getting so much water in the fuel
diesels use fuel to lubricate and cool the injectors and this fuel gets hot
it is returned back to the tank where the cool air in the tank forms into droplets of water and over time contaminates the fuel system
How to avoid the water forming--- change from leaving the tank half empty or less to running it at least 3/4 full or more when not in use
Less air space = less water
use a quality diesel fuel conditioner also helps

Tip

I put petrol in my diesel car

If you accidentally put petrol into your diesel car there is an unbelievably easy fix for it.
firstly get a paper coffee/tea cup(sold in most garages) fill it with any type of engine oil and add it to your diesel tank.(apply it in two half-cup measures and you will not spill it everywhere), then fill your tank with diesel. your engine might splutter a bit but the engine oil will compensate for the petrol and it should correct its self. Do this again the next time your tank will take a few gallon of diesel and it should be fine.

Gettin sensor volt up on display on jz70 jcb excavator wont start!wot does this mean?

is it cranking at all, if no, you might have a loose connection to the starter, or the started might be dead, or it could be a faulty relay or fuse.

How can water get to the diesel tank from the radiator reservoir?

there is no connection between the coolant reservoir and the diesel tank. However when running diesel fuel becomes hot from the return fuel from the injectors that is used to cool and lubricate the injectors. Diesel tanks are vented to the atmosphere and so condensation forms in the tank when it cools down. This accumulates and is picked up and goes to the filter ( should have a water separator in the system) Left untreated a moss grows in the fuel which blocks filters and injectors Use a diesel fuel conditioner to control the rubbish A method of controlling water in the tank that is used by all long distance operators is to fill to the top every time before shutting down for the night.

1994 chevy 3500 6.9 diesel you drive it acs like running out of fuel half to bleed lines to get air out to start back up

sounds like u got a clogged fuel filter, or you have got a fuel line somewhere that is sucking air in, could be anywhere from the pump back to the tank, if that shows no luck, get a piece of clear hose and put that just before the pump and look for bubbles, the slightest of bubbles will cause it do run rough and stall
failing this and there is no air bubbles i would say your injector pump needs rebuilding but this is rather unlikely unless u have got a fair few miles on it

hope this helps

I have put 8 litres of diesel in my 2005 renault scenic i have topped it up with 25 litres of petrol and run it for about 20 miles so far will this be ok once the the tank is empty

The 8 liters of diesel mixed with the 25 liters will make the vehicle smoke a little but if you continue to dilute the diesel/petrol mixture with petrol as your tank level goes down you should have minimal problems. When the tank gets to half you should refill it with petrol for at least two times. The main two problems I could think of that would cause you any concern would be the fuel filter getting partially plugged and the injectors gumming up. By continuing to dilute the tank with petrol you should be okay because the filter and injectors will clean themselves up while you drive. Just make sure you do not take any short drives. Let the engine warm up to operating temperature until you have ran at least two complete tanks of petrol through it.

Draining fuel tank

My son in law had exactly the same problem, he called out his roadside assistance, what the did was to take him to a garage, they used a small pump with a pipe to get down into his fuel tank thro' the filler, pumped it all out and refilled with diesel, they may also have changed his fuel filter, no problem. jonbangor
