SOURCE: bonnet will not open as clip on bonnet is gone.

Depending upon how familiar you might be with the location of the under-hood release, you may be able to access it through the small opening between the hood and grill that follows opening the bonnet by pulling the lever under the steering wheel. A long narrow standard head screwdriver and a good light may be all that is required. That is exactly how the mechanic at the VW garage will release the hood latch.

If your not at all familiar with the hood latch, it might be useful to view the mechanism in another Passat so that you know how it functions. Less than a 5 minute job, but the dealer will likely charge about $65 to perform the task, substantially more to replace the broken mechanism.

Aston martin rapide battery has died and cant open the doors

When the battery goes flat on a rapide the windows are up. The doors are frameless so the windows are located in the seals in the door aperture. You cannot open the doors and you cannot open the boot. Look through the front grille towards the radiator with a torch and you will see the bonnet release cable outer sheath. If you pull the outer sheath it will put enough tension on the cable to release the bonnet catch. With the bonnet open you can charge the battery. Negative clip on the alternator casing and positive clip on the central charging stud.

I have a 2003 mecedes benz when i pull the handle on the inside the hood only pops up on one side.

HI there are two bonnet latches and a cable that joins the two together that stretches sometimes or doesnt pull hard enough to open the other side to get the bonnet open pull the release handle and get a freind to slap their hand hard on the bonnet in the rough area of the bonnet catch it should pop open when you do get it open check the operation of the catch with the bonnet up by pushing a screwdriver across the catch to lock it the pull the realease and see if it will open the catch plenty of penetrating oil around the catch and grease after that should get it working again

Where is the bonnet release catch on a ford focus

Go to the ford badge at the front of the car
Swivel the badge (its spring loaded)
Insert your ignition key and turn to the left (position 1)
The bonnet should pop up
Turn the key to the right (position 2)
You can now lift the bonnet.

My rowenta leaks hot water

It is probably calsified (boiler stone has formed inside the steam ducts). Clean the iron according to the instruction manual.
If you have no manual, do this:
Heat the iron to the maximum in upright position with reservoir full of water. Turn the iron to 'operating position' i.e. in normal ironing position horizontally over a sink or similar. Use the extra steam button to force steam thru the iron. When the iron cools down so that the steam is no longer strong and some water is clearly leaking out, place the iron into upright position again.
When the iron is fully hot again, repeat the steaming. Do this until you have no water left. Let the iron cool down, add water and repeat the procedure until the iron doesn't leak anymore.
You will see the boiler stone coming out like hard dandruff. You can pull out bigger pieces with tweezers or similar. But be careful since the iron is hot!
Hope this helps. I do this roughly every month or two to keep the iron from leaking on my shirts.

How do i get the ignition key switch out of 1996 chrysler concord

Though not reccommended for a novice as major steering column damage may occur. I will give you basic (very basic!) instructions.

You will need the proper key. I'm not allowed to advise you how without the key.
Buy the new key and switch from your local auto parts store.
Remove the plastic moldings around the key via the various screws and clips remembering where they go. Once you've accessed the switch there is a black plastic clip around the switch I see in pictures that tells you the switch position, this should pop off as well. The switch will now be open. Locate the gold pin on either the bottom or rear of the switch. Insert the proper key and turn the key to run. Depress the gold pin. If the pin can not be pressed, turn to accessory and try again. While holding down the gold pin, pull outward on the key and the switch will come out of the column with the key. Notice the orientation that it comes out!!
Hold your new switch in the same orientation and place it's key in and turn to the same position you pulled out the old one (run or accessory). Begin to insert the switch, press the gold pin to click the switch completely back in and notice when it locks in place.
Test that the new switch turns back and fourth and starts the car. Replace your plastic moldings.
Congrats, you've just replaced your switch.

Keep your old key. It works your doors and trunk. Those will have to be rekey'd by a locksmith who has special tools and parts.

Best of luck.
DO NOT attempt unless 100% comfortable and at your own risk!!

Removing drivers side paneling?

yes there are little clips on the inside that just pop into place.. Sounds like all you have left to do is take out the screw that holds in the door handle.. its a small one near the top of the casing behind the actual handle itself.. once that is off slip a screwdriver under a part of the panel so you can get a grip and pull hard.. it should just pop right off.. and it will pop right back into place just as easy..
